It's a bit arbitrary but I must say, I'm following this channel for maybe 5 years now, and it has been a long while since I've seriously worked on my latin. Now that I do I can clearly say that you helped me a great deal and I am so very grateful. Thank you!

Can you clarify the correct placement of adverbs a little bit. In the first example it was ahead of the verb and in the second example it was behind the verb. Are there any rules regarding placement of adverbs in sentences

Have you ever considered doing this stuff for Greek or no? Maybe not exactly like this channel, although a greektutorial would be awesome, but something similar and small at best.

Yes, but a few things stop me: my Greek isn’t as good as my Latin, and I don’t regularly teach Greek (I’m fully booked with Latin, and so I wouldn’t be able to anticipate common mistakes or difficulties that most learners have), and I don’t have enough time in general. Maybe if I quit my job... hmm... 😏

@@latintutorial Ah yes, something even I think about before even having a real job. This channel is helpful and well done enough though. Keep it up.

But how do we know which they are modifying?

Context, everyone's least favorite answer.

Ben you blessed with Aeneid.co , for the last three months I’ve been zipping through the ap work book and always have the best notes for class and am able to translate it with a breeze. However having finished that work book we have moved onto the Caesar DBG workbook for AP and I’m trying to find tutorial videos for it but there seem to none. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again

Fantastic! Thanks for using my stuff, and I'm glad it makes things easy for you. So, the unfortunate news is that I don't know of anything similar for you to use for Caesar. Which means there's a need not yet addressed... Hmm...

You don't explain what you mean by "modify" or a sentence would look like before modification if there was not an adverb
@latintutorial4 жыл бұрын
"Modify" in the sense of grammar is changing or adding to the meaning of a word or phrase. So an adverb will add to or change the meaning of a word - thus, "he goes quickly", the "quickly" modifies, or adds to, the idea of "going".
