You should watch the movie about this called “Hacksaw Ridge”. They actually removed real life things because they didn’t think the audience would believe how heroic he was.

Mr. Doss was a true warrior and hero, i agree with the commenter who said the movie hacksaw ridge toned down how bad it was. Ive seen pictures of him and noticed he was not a big man but he certainly had the heart of a lion. So happy he lived a long life on his farm with Dorothy.
