That's because the name raftel, on it's own is meaningless, cause all we ever had up until stampede was just the katakana. Oda deliberately kept it ambiguous for years so fans can guess what it means, and only recently dropped the English spelling as a clue for the 20th anniversary of the anime.

Ok this is just a theory but I think that Laugh tale may be the most twisted and island in the one piece world. The only thing I have to go on is how Buggy reacted back in Stampede. I know it was just a movie, but buggy seemed down right terrified. So that got me thinking maybe Laugh tale isn’t a pun but a sick joke. What if Laugh tale (as an island) has a final test or safety procaution. Maybe when you step on the island you experience your greatest fear (cranked up to 11) and the only way to move forward would be to laugh it off. I mean One piece is a series or adventure and moving forward despite the hardships of life and since Laugh tale is the final island, I can’t think of a better way to symbolize the end of the journey than that.

I never really got the need for the fourth road poneglyph. But that is mainly because when I think of finding a location using more than one point my mind immediately goes to triangulation. It makes me think that the coordinates on each are only part of what you need to get there. That the poneglyphs have some sort of riddle you have to decipher to make it there safely after arriving at the approximate location.

To be honest: I think buggy is actually strong and knows how to keep a secret. Remember: the government didn't know til forever after Roger's execution, and he sailed beside some of strongest pirates we've know. I think he is just not as confident as he used to be, seeing as his closest peer is Shanks, and probably one of the people who taught buggy his tricks and how to fight was one of the Roger crew. I'm not saying he was one of the strongest members. But like.... Maybe the weakest member in a line of extremely powerful "we will fuck up your day six ways to next Sunday" crew

I think at best, he's not as strong as he could've been. Had Buggy gone out and explored the grand line, trained and recruited better people initially, rather than terrorizing civilians and weak pirate crews in the East Blue, he could've become way stronger. But since he stayed in the East Blue not really doing anything to get stronger, all that potential is now pissed down the drain.

If he was a weak member, he probably would have died. I'm not saying he's power three levels of strength, but maybe like the nami/ussop of the crew. He can handle himself in a fight but otherwise would try and stay back and let the bigger guys due the work

First off, I know they aren't canon, I just think Oda would be consulted on the subject of "okay what would the general layout of the Roger crew be and how did they look". Now in the battle against Shiki, who as far as we know, might have been a Yonko of Roger's time, we didn't see Buggy towards the back of the crew. We saw him like at least first to second line fighter. So we can determine that he was at least strong enough to be relatively close to the captain during a battle. Now I know he was just a cabin boy on the Roger Crew, but if that is to be taken at face value, buggy might just be a bit stronger then what we see at face value if you give him no option of escape

I absolutely agree that the potential of Buggy knowing about Laugh Tale and what the One Piece is, yet never uttering a word about it to anyone, never even telling people he was a member of Roger's crew, speaks volumes about what's really waiting there. It also really makes me want to know Buggy's story, because he's definitely going to be important going into endgame, maybe as a surprise big player, but more likely I think he'll be the source of an exposition dump where we get some of the BIG answers. I could totally see Luffy and co. sitting down with Buggy and Shanks (after the Luffy/Shanks reunion, so like REALLY endgame time) and the 2 of them telling the tale, and maybe there's a reason for what Buggy's been doing all these years, because it really always seemed odd to me that Buggy could have been on Roger's crew, and potentially made it to Laugh Tale, but was still such a small player in the world for like 20 years. Basically Goda has probably set up something amazing with Buggy and I can't wait!

I remember when the KZbin channel Ohara did an analysis on Buggy he pointed out that the fact that Buggy may have been to Laugh Tale, knows what the One Piece is, and still doesn't go after it despite his greed, shows that the One Piece treasure isn't money or gold or anything Buggy would see as worth anything. It may be physical, it may be important to the World Government that it's suppresses, but it's not money.

Also Tekking the whole doomsday weapon on Laugh tale, for the sake of argument and entertaining the idea, could be Pluton and Uranos, spelt it differently for the proper spelling having a certain terming, however the whole aspect of two of the 3 ancient weapons, let alone one ancient weapon, being there would be kind of cliché but would make sense so to speak since weapons, in the more traditional sense like with pluton being a frag off battleship, could be part of a treasure and buggy could’ve kept quiet on the information due to respect of roger AND due to fear considering how he talked his crew out of attacking ace while he was asleep due to fear of invoking Pops’ wrath

Here's a thought, Laugh Tale is actually a good name for the final island/the location of the one piece because Oda's emphasis on character's all having their own individual laughs. It shows some sort of interesting connection between the ancient civilizations and how unique everything is. IDK I can't really come up with a good theory surrounding it, but worth mentioning.

Random theory about laughtale and idk if anyone said this yet I think it’s the only place that holds the untold of the blank century that Imu wiped out. What if it was just some embarrassing ‘prank’ Joyboy pulled on Imu, or someone who’s the complete opposite from Joyboy. Like a brother playing a prank on the other, and that other tried to hide that embarrassing time from the world, but Joyboy and Imu’s case would be way darker, or more deeper. Or maybe something like ‘losing to a clown in an embarrassing way and it ruined my reputation’ or smth. So when Roger found out, he laughed.

Even now we do not know if actually Laughtale is an island which is underwater and only emerges at particular times. That is why maybe Roger said that he was 20 years early. Like Long ring long island.

Laugh Tale probably got it's name because Roger went around talking about the mysterious island and the adventure full of wonders that led up to it, and everyone just laughed at the stories, so, the legend of the island was a tale that spreads laughs, hence Laugh Tale

Just a thought, all that water coming up at the X on that map showing how to get to Laugh Tale, could that be the other end of the hole around Enies Lobby where all the water falling down comes up? Another thought, the name of the island could have just been written on the Rio Poneglyph, and it has to be a name that people would recognize otherwise there's not much reason to shoot Clover before he says it. To me it always had to be either Laugh Tale, or Mariejois as those would be the two most shocking names. The other possibility is that it's Nakrowa, the Island of Dreams that Cricket left to search for.

That is why nobody found it you have to call the island
