Wow, thank you for showing us this nuked flower thing... I wonder, if you would arrange these on black or very dark paper...or a dark painted background..like slapping some dark acrylics on to an old thrift shop canvas with a gold frame.... it would look a little bit like the dutch golden age still life paintings.? Great method! Also, I like how you can use and see your coasters every day instead of having your dried flowers in a box up in the attic. Perfect!
@LaughCryDIYАй бұрын
Absolutely! I’ve also seen similar arrangements as a photo frame and bookmarks. I also think it would be super cute to decoupage them for custom thank you cards! But that one would be a lot of work.

Definitely recommend scraping the sides, also, wait till you pour to hit it with the lighter because you’ll get bubbles from pouring

Hey Katy congrats on the marriage xx The coasters turned out great, when i am mixing resin I put the cup in a container with hot water when I stir, it helps cut down the bubbles xox

Katy, the microwave drying is brilliant! They came out beautiful. But honestly, the only thing I could think of was OMG cover those things with your upside down Pyrex so Baguette didn't get any fur in them! 😹

Beautiful! Heating the resin is indeed a wonderful way to cut down on bubbles, but just be aware that it reduces your work time. And once that sucker starts to harden, it goes fast!

That’s a good point. I was so surprised how quickly it hardened in the cup.

Wow, they look GORGEOUS! I thought the coasters looked great just clear, but the gold leaf somehow makes them look more ‘vintage’. What a fantastic idea to preserve your wedding flowers! Dried they will eventually crumble, even if you try to be really careful with them (or maybe that’s just me) and they have a faint ‘dead vegetation’ smell I don’t like. Encasing the dried wedding flowers in coasters - so much better!
@LaughCryDIYАй бұрын
That’s totally why I wanted to save them like that. I’ve saved other flowers before but overtime I feel like Morticia Addams bc of that scent. 😂

The coasters are beautiful, you can take the rest of the flowers and recreate a bouquet or a wreath and frame it.

@lindaroyal8161Ай бұрын
Wow - they're very pretty - what a nice way to preserve your flowers. I did not know you could dry flowers in the microwave. Guess I just never thought about it, since I don't do pressed flower things or many crafts for that matter. I just like watching others do them and the unique ideas they come up with. You have very good ideas! Nicely done, they're pretty cool. I can see making some of those, with a hole near the edge for hanging; having them as window suncatchers.
@LaughCryDIYАй бұрын
Totally! I was thinking of making ornaments for thank yous!
@lindaroyal8161Ай бұрын
@@LaughCryDIY - That's cute idea, make them the same way as the coaster, just a bit smaller and a hole for hanging. Great gift idea for other occasions also. TY
