My friend was talking about getting a pc and I told him that he should research and try to build one himself and I could help. He, for some reason, was adamant on buying a pre-built, and after failing to convince him to build his own I just let him go in blind and buy a random pre-built. He invited me over to see his pc and he did not go cheap(rtx 2080 intel I9-9000k). You'd think that such an expensive pc would be great in build quality as well, but no it looked as bad or even worse than the verge guy pc. They even forgot to plug in the cooling, so when the pc was on the fans just sat still, which is obviously extremely bad for a pc with such powerful components. Luckily he was given a full refund and I helped him build a new pc

That is a crazy ride. Do you know what listing he bought it from? That sounds like the kind of thing that needs coverage so that hopefully less people will buy that kind of crap. I am glad you could help your friend build a nice PC in the end of all that.

Hahahaha you guys must feel so stupid now that pre-builts were the best way to go within a year of your comment. I got a custom pre built from Corsair and it is more nicely put together than I could do myself and it has, every part, a top-mid tier Corsair or Asus component. I also put the list of parts together on PCpartpicker and compared it to what I paid and I saved $200 because of price inflation and yea sure I might have gone with a nicer motherboard or RAM but you can upgrade all that all you want. Doesn't break warranty it's definitely the best brand of prebuilt, MSI is really good too and Asus and Lenovo are decent. Even still they are trying to remain competitive with DIY pricing and have mostly stopped using shit no name parts, at least in the well known good brands of pre builts as I mentioned above. I paid $3400 in 2021 for a 5900x / 6800xt / 32GB DDR4 3200 / Asus B550 Plus / 1TB NVME / 2TB HDD set up with all corsair accessory parts: 4000DX RGB Case, 750W PSU, 32GB 3200 RGB Pro, H100i Pro XT RGB, RGB fans, 1TB NVME, and the HDD was seagate, so all S tier brands used and top end models. On PCpartpicker the build was $4300 at some points in 2021 because of the price of a 6800 XT. Buying custom from a prebuilt company like corsair or MSI will allow you to make sure you get access to a good PC with all parts made by the brand who made the computer or another high tier brand (most people use Asus as a backup brand, or Gigabyte) if the company does not make the component - for example, Corsair does not make GPUs so I got an XFX Speedster Merc 319 Core Edition 6800XT. They also don't make motherboards or CPUs obvs so I got AMD/Asus. Check the specs beforehand on most high end brand prebuilts and you will be pleasantly surprised these days, and the cable management is always excellent and better than i bother to do myself. They list all the parts now like motherboard and PSU where before a few yrs ago they didnt, just the main specs like RAM, storage and CPU.

Tbh most of these deals arent that bad considering they have to mark the price up 15% compared to what they would sell it for on their own site as Amazon takes 15%. That's why most of the big pre built companies use their own site and not Amazon. 90% of the time the problems come from PC's being damaged in shipping which can't be helped unless you are going to ship in a huge crate adding to the overall cost. Sure the MB and PSU aren't always top brand top quality but that would add to the overall cost which is already 40% above what it could be built for just so the company can afford to buy the prebuilt with Amazon taking their cut. I doubt they would have any issue putting 80+gold PSU's and the latest motherboards in the prebuilts but the reality is the average consumer looking for prebuilts on Amazon isn't going to care or notice aslong as it works and isnt willing top pay another $100-$200 on top of the already inflated price.

This is why when you buy a prebuilt, you can just by it at micro center or Best Buy. Having a place to return it if something of wrong that is a physical location really just makes prebuilt PCs have the benefit of easy return if any part doesn’t work. Add to that getting a great sale price, you can easier out class most self built PCs.

I won a SI pre-built in a raffle back in march was assembled by Skytech Gaming, an Omega model of theirs. Ordered and shipped through Amazon. At the time it was selling for $1450 shipped, came well packed, well cable managed front and back and everything worked right out of the box, the RAM was even using the proper XMP profile. I've added a 3TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM HDD and a 6TB Hitachi Ultrastar 7200 RPM HDD and a kit of 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 CL16 to give the rig a total of 32GB. Like yours it would have cost more to buy the parts individually and assemble it than the system was selling for plus the advantage of a single point of service warranty rather than one for every part from a different company like you get when you build yourself. I've built a couple dozen PCs for myself over the years and dozens more for friends and family as well as a lot of pc repair over the years and normally would always build my own but I must say it's as good as I would have done and it was free so I can not complain even a little bit about it. The stock specs of the machine were: InWin 303 White Case ASRock z390 Pro4 2x8GB HP V6 DDR4 3200 CL16 Intel Core i7-9700k Thermaltake 120mm AIO Gigabyte 700W 80+ PSU 3x 120mm Thermaltake Static pressure fans AData SU750 500GB SSD Intel AC Wifi + Blutooth MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Armor 8G OC Windows 10 Home

My first gaming PC was a CyberPower pre-built that they made in bulk for Best Buy. To be honest, it served me reasonably well for like two years. The trash Toshiba HDD they used died in a year, but other than that I left it alone until one day I accidentally spilled a shit ton of water down its top vent. After tearing that pre-built down to put new components in, I realized how cheap pre-builts are. They throw one or two 'decent' components in then the absolute cheapest for everything else. Unbranded, low wattage PSU, the jankiest motherboard I've ever seen, cheap basic RAM without even a heat sink... You get the picture. After that I built my own, then rebuilt it again when I wanted it to be better.

While a lot of reviews claimed to get an MSI 2060, my PC arrived with a Zotac Gaming 2060. My previous PC was an i5-7000 something with a 3GB 1060 and 8GB of RAM. So actually this is sort of the worrying thing for me. I'm having a hard time picking out a prebuilt because of the worry that it'll die in a month with a bad PSU. The reason I'm not building one is because I put $700 into buying parts after having to sell my old gaming laptop a few months prior only to have a DOA motherboard and couldn't get a replacement, as well as a destroyed case. Spent my birthday the next day returning everything but the monitor and didn't even get full refunds on a few of the components. Really not wanting to risk that amount of money on a bunch of parts again! Any suggestions? Trying to get back into making videos!

Dawid for the first system, it's a locked 9700F with a 65W TDP, so I think the motherboard and cooler choices are OK. Why spend more on a Z series motherboard with a locked CPU? Sure it might run a bit hot if all 8 cores are loaded, but for general use and gaming I'm sure it will be fine.

For 1400$, you can get: - RTX 2070S - I5 10600k - 16GB of CL16 3600MHz - Z490 motherboard - cooler enabling you to OC your CPU to 5GHz with good temperatures. All of that with good case and power supply, 256GB M.2 and 1TB HDD. Way more performance, upgrade potential for not that much more of the price in comparison to those 1000$ builds. I'm pretty sure, that this system will easily be able to work with 3090 with no bottleneck

I have a Skytech Gaming Omega that I won in a raffle back in March, it was bought through Amazon. I've built at least a couple dozen PCs for myself through the years and dozens more for family and friends as well as diagnosing and repairing them for 25 years and normally would never want to use, let alone buy, a prebuilt. I can honestly say Skytech did an excellent job with the build and the config is decent as well. A lot of these systems on Amazon between $750 and $1200 have a lot of corners cut and you have to check the parts and such to get one that is good value there aren't a lot but there are some, there are a lot more that are decent value for money in the $1400 to $2000 range it seems like it is harder to cheap out on parts in that price range As Sold specs of the machine: InWin 303 White Case ASRock z390 Pro4 2x8GB HP V6 DDR4 3200 CL16 Intel Core i7-9700k Thermaltake 120mm AIO Gigabyte 700W 80+ PSU 3x 120mm Thermaltake Static pressure fans AData SU750 500GB SSD Intel AC Wifi + Blutooth MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Armor 8G OC Windows 10 Home

They sent me a replacement motherboard and I had to go into the bios to up the RAM to 3000 MHz. I ended up upgrading the graphics card to a RTX 3060 TI before prices skyrocketed and upgraded the power supply as well. It's pretty quiet overall.

This bulid came with M.2 slot so I added a 240GB M.2 SSd and left the old one in the machine with my windos 10 OS backup on it. I cannot stress how enough how much safer, cheaper and better it is to do a custom build online knowing that it will be stressed tested before shipping and comes from a company whos passion for building custom PCs is why they do it for a living. Personally speaking, Skytech (specifically the Chronos model) is pretty balanced for its price point and runs really smoothly. Probably the best pre-builts on Amazon. If you're looking for something a little pricier, something like the NZXT Streamer PC looks pretty good. Starter is pretty decent as well.

All of the options are bad but at least the system with the 3600 and the B450 motherboard gives you room to grow., i'd say go for that one! you could do a video on it's base specs and then do a "Glow up" video where you fix any shoddy bits of it (adding RAM, Better SSD, fixing Cable management, Dunking the probably garbage non-certified PSU into the rubbish bin where it belongs)

I personally think that Skytech is a great company to buy a system from, well, at least from my experience. About a year ago I didn't feel comfortable building my own PC, and since I still was using the Alienware X51 r2 from about 2013, I was in desperate need for an upgrade. I searched for a long time on Amazon and Newegg looking for the best deal on a gaming PC that was around $900. I eventually came up with Skytech's Blaze 2 which came with a Ryzen 5 2600 and an MSI Armor 1660 Ti, 8 GB of 3200 MHz, and a 512 GB nvme all at the time for about $830. It came right on time (about 3 days I think) from Amazon and came with some useful information for people who wouldn't know where to start with a new PC, like a quick start guide and what the buttons on the front panel stood for and such. One important note: *It came with the inflatable packing wrap to hold the components in place* which was easy to take out. The cable management was a good 7.5/10 for me since the cables behind the back panel were zip tied and routed correctly and cleanly, although all the extra SATA power cables from the PSU were just jammed in the drive bay, along with a molex connector. The air cooling was very good and kept the system sufficiently far from thermal throttling and I never needed felt like the case got dirty enough to make a dust worth the work. Now as stated in the video, every prebuilt comes with it's own trickery to save money on the parts while keeping the selling price similar, and in this case (PUN) I found those weird parts to be that the drive bay didn't come with any brackets to actually mount a 3.5" hard drive. There were screw holes for a 2.5" drive on top of the bay but no way to put a 3.5" in at all. Another odd thing is that when I tried to take out the motherboard, one of the screws on the left side wouldn't fully let go, so I had no actual way of taking the motherboard out of the case. I don't know if it was just a flaw with my case or Skytech being anti-upgrade, but it's something to note nonetheless. Now the two parts I haven't named yet are the motherboard and PSU. The motherboard was a cheap AsRock A320-HDV R4.0 which was good enough for me since I had no intention to overclock my CPU and it had the option to enable XMP. The PSU was a Gamdias Kratos 550 Watt 80 plus bronze PSU with a custom RGB attachment added by Skytech to work with Skytech's RGB hub. Overall the experience for a more budget system was surprisingly good and I would shop with Skytech again if I hadn't started building my own systems. 9.8/10

Dude, I ordered a High-end system from Cyberpower UK about a year and a half ago. They delayed it by 4 days citing stock delays, but it took me calling them to find this out. When i got it, the 2080 Ti wasn't seated properly, had to clip it into the pcie slot. Then it would give me an output. After some testing it turned out it was a faulty card, urgh. I took it down to the store as they said bring the system down and they'll change the card which I thought, fine, it was close. Took it down then they told me they needed to take the whole pc back and keep for a week which I protested to. I just wanted a new card which they had. I called up from the car park to complain, and the guy who was being a dick with me picked up the phone and refused to log a complaint about himself or put anyone else on, lol. Got them to ship it back to me and thank god it worked and haven''t had any issues with it yet. Customer service is key with pre-built companies. Don't use Cyberpower UK.

I actually own a Skytech Archangel. When it was finally time to upgrade the old X4/1050ti system... Well it required all new parts, and I didn't feel like building a new one (hell parts of my old system date back to AthlonXP days) As configured came with the R5 3600, 16GB of HP branded DDR4 3200, Zotac 1660ti and a 256gb PNY SSD. It's an Asrock B450M/AC and has built-in wifi. For me it was packed very well (box, dense foam inserts, in a fabric bag.) Opening it, it was packed inside with one of those formed foam bags to keep the components in place. I bought it with the intention of installing a Deepcool Captain 240ex and it fit well in the front of the case. Only upgrade I did, other than the AIO was install a 2 TB Seagate Firecuda hybrid drive for storage. As a gaming computer it gets the job done, and because of Nvidia's hardware encoding, it also has no trouble streaming. I paid $840 for it about 6 months ago (not long before the COVID issue drove tech prices through the roof) and I definitely think for a pre-built, it earns it's pay. I did have one issue, with a defective key on the keyboard. I took a photo of the problem and sent it to Skytech. Next day I got a reply that said they had shipped me a new keyboard and gave me the tracking number. No need to return the old one. I agree, that these systems are hit and miss with companies like this, but mine turned out to be great (to ME at least)

I bought a prebuilt last year, not knowing much about computers, from OnBuy (it's a UK retailer of various crap, seems more of a marketplace), and after watching a bunch of your videos I realised what's the catch with my system. It has an i7-2600 intel ancient chip, a motherboard that is so old it doesn't even support USB 3, and an unknown cooler. There is some positives too, like 32giga of ram divided in 4 sticks of 8 giga each, i guess that's better than single channel, 500gb SSD, and the case offers plenty of ventilation meshes. The graphic card is nothing to speak much of, it's a GTX 1660 super, and I paid it some £759.99 (around $940). Next time I ever want to change my computer I want to build it myself, seems like a cool thing to do

My first PC was a Cyberpower and I got it in 2016 with a GTX 1080, 32gb of ram, a 244ssd, 1 tb hard drive, and an MSI motherboard for 1250$ It is still kicking ass to this day, as it’s my GF new pc due to me building my first PC and if I was to ever make a recommendation, Cyberpower makes the best prebuilts and I’m so happy to have gotten my first one from them and recommend them to anyone who doesn’t want to build a PC, and wants to go the prebuilt route

All kidding aside I have bought a number of prebuilts from Amazon over the years, some for myself, a few for my nieces and nephews. I have actually had the best experiences with the SkyTech PCs. They have always come built properly (no missing parts, loose connections, or bad components) and most often came with better parts than were shown in the picture. For instance I bought one of their prebuilts about 6 months or so ago, the motherboard was stated as a B450M and the picture showed what appeared to be a Gigabyte motherboard, with just 2 DIMM slots and a single PCIe 16x slot. Wifi was stated to be included in the form of a USB dongle. What I actually receeved though was a B450M/AC from ASRock with wifi built in and 2 PCIe 16x slots and 4 DIMM slots. The 16GB of RAM was not set up in single channel as it was in the picture as well, but was properly placed in slots 2 and 4 with 8GB each, it was also 3000Mhz RAM and not the 2666 advertised. The picture also didn't explicitly state what manufacturer the graphics card would be from, just that it would be a 2060RTX. I assumed from the pictured one was an EVGA as it had that nasty DVI port on it, but what I got was an MSI Ventus with no DVI ports, just the Displayport and HDMI outputs. Universally I have found however that prebuilts (Skytech included) cheap out in 4 main areas: The Power Supply, the RAM, the Cooling solution, and the motherboard. For casual users or just moderate gaming enthusiasts that isn't a huge problem, the temperature is stable and power consumption is modest without tweaking and overclocking. Anyone dedicated enough to overclock is a 100 times more likely to build their own PC from the ground up anyhow. That just really leaves the RAM and Motherboard. Most of the PC's I got from Skytech came with just off the shelf RAM sticks (no heat shields or anything fancy, just bare bones, ugly green PCB with memory modules), the exception being the latest one I spoke of earlier, it came with RAM with aluminum heat shielding but it was still just generic OLOY 3000mhz DDR4 that can be bought for like $60. As for motherboards I think universally all prebuilts give you the these very basic motherboards that are made in massive quantities because the companies making the PC get great deals buying them in bulk from the manufacturer. You're not going to see a line of prebuilts coming with a TRX40 or B550-F or any of the $100-$200 motherboards, they are going to come with the cheaper sub $100 ones they can get in bulk.

Hi Dawid, I actually bought the Strix system from a local retailer, and I just saw the video today. I was long due to upgrade my old rig and I got this one for 900$can for 9 paiment without interest, witch is real great when you are short on money. I added 2x8gb ddr4 3.2mhz And added my old ssd for more storage. I top 64°c after 5h of Escape from Tarkov and I rarely get stutter while i play. Its been only 2 weeks, but im glad I got it. It will be easier to upgrade piece by piece

My sister got one of the $800-ish Skytech ones and seems to like it. She streams with it and hasn't had any issues. I offered to help her build one since I built one last year (me in vegas, her in Florida) but she didn't wanna hassle with it but I did tell her she's gonna need to upgrade her RAM (one 8GB stick is all that arrived in it).

Always build your own. I wasn't confident in building mine solo so I paid a guy I knew from high school that knows a lot about PC gaming to help me build mine. And I'm so glad I did.

I was one of the people who received a broken PC from "IBuyPower" They put the GPU in and shipped it with NO Support!! It bounced around in shipping and destroyed the inside. This was my daughter BIG christmas present. So she was devastated! I was able to return it and bought a cyberpower PC and was blown away! I was so impressed I bought myself one after!

Love the video, it outlines the problem with feature upgrades on pre builds. You can get custom ones directly with Cyberpower or iBuypower but the issues if you need to know something about pcs to get the right stuff. At that point you would most likely have the knowledge to just build it yourself.

I got a sky tech pc for around 1400$. It has an rtx 2070 super, a ryzen 7 2700x, 16gb of ram at 3300mhz, a 650 watt gold 80+ power supply, a 1tb ssd. The cable management was actually quite nice, the mother board was an asrock b450 ac, which is an ok mother board. The cable management is very nice, and it came packaged perfectly. The rgb all works, and is actually wired into the case to change it by a press of a button. There is windows 10 home. Drivers were installed, everything was perfect

My family has bought ibuypower as starter pcs since 2004, we've never had issues and as such i myself got my first prebuilt from ibuypower recently, again no issues. I have a rare experience from what i see of the vocal majority where we've had 4 machines from them and none have had major issues or falsely advertised specs and returns are always a hassle no matter what with heavy pc's so the few returns could be compared to bestbuy or walmart returns if you've used their delivery service, it's mostly a matter of buying directly from prebuilders not through a medium, insure you're getting the promised system and if you don't receive it insure you get your money back. I spent 132$ more than i would have building it myself not counting shipping cost so when it comes to convenience and time saving im a sucker

You gotta agree that origin's prebuild PC's are not so bad. I mean, the price to performance is pretty decent
@CyberRelic280

Origin isn’t your typical prebuild pc company that sells half decent to horrible products on eBay or Amazon though. They have their own website and allow you to customize which parts you want. Although I think it’s still more expensive to buy from them than building your own, companies like Origin are the only way to go for prebuild if that’s what you want. First time buyers need to be more aware of these companies.

Honestly the worst thing about these builds is the price. I recently decided it was time for a new computer and did research for a few weeks before deciding to just build my own. By my estimate I saved about $595US over a $2000US prebuild. And I got a monitor with that also, so more like $900US saved. So $1405 vs. $2300. That's the only argument that needs to be made really. I suppose the real irony here is that with the exception of one component (nvme drive) I purchased every other part (including a screwdriver) from Amazon.

My Skytech Shiva, the first skytech pc in this video actually game w a gigabyte 2060, and a B450 board, and has been exceeding all expectations, im actually very satisfied with their prebuilds compared to most companies.

Why I won't personally buy a prebuilt off of most system builders: Case airflow. That alone deters me, not even mentioning the fact that most of them have questionable power supplies or surplus/ hand-me-down parts. The fact that majority of the cases they choose have no front or bottom airflow is really questionable considering the newer tech temperatures basically demand front-mesh intakes.

I bought a CYBERPOWERPC prebuilt, now I've added tons of upgrades to it, but when I originally got it there was no issues at all, it's a marvelous PC and it is a great PC for beginners if you are new to the PC gaming world. It clocked in at about 700$ For a decent AMD system, the ability to overclock, and expansive upgrade potential, I feel like I got my moneys worth. If you are looking for a prebuilt PC, go for it, BUT- DO NOT let a company get over on you, the first option will never be the best.

I feel blessed living next to a Micro Center. 9900K's and 10700K's for $350 and Z390/Z490 ASUS Strix-E's for $200/$300. eVGA 2080XC Ultras for $550. Heck i picked up a 2080ti FTW3 Ultra (-87) for $1,000 which is still going for $1500 everywhere else with a 55in LG C9 OLED for another cool $1,000. Also got a 65in LG MicroLED 120hz 4K TV for $400. When walking out i spotted the RADEON VII for $325 and a VEGA 64 for $250. It's open box/still new deals like these that keep me going back.

The main reason people buy prebuilt is people don’t now anything about PCs, which they know. They take the cheapest parts, take a cool case with rgb and tempered glass and mark it up 200$
