livia sent me a couple of hand held jumper packs and launch scanners.. one was the launch 4001 and i forgot what number the second one was..she just sent me out this scanner so im excited to get it. for ky everyday scanner i have the new autel maxisys so ill review this one and do a give away for all 3 scanners for my subscribers. this was a veey well presented video... v3ry in formative. great job!

I don't know anything about the Autel but I'd probably go with that one because it is newer and currently being sold and supported. The CR9081 appears to be discontinued.

Can this scanner diagnose an ABS problem...I need to know which wheel sensor is bad....can it tell me, or would I need a much more expensive scanner for that?

thanks for the video I was looking for a good scan tool and saw this on Amazon but I think so far the Autel Maxidiag MD802 is winning though it doesn't seem to do tpms resets or any kind of re but it has abs and srs management capabilities. if you ever get a chance please review it

That does look like a nice scan tool. I did just receive the Autel Dialglink and will be reviewing that soon, though, it doesn't look to be as advanced as the Maxidiag.

Why is the unit giving you metric data on your Honda (freeze frame) ? I thought you set it for Imperial units. Don't tell me you have to set it every time you connect to the car! But on your RDX it did show imperial units.

Ah, you are very observant. Thanks for the feedback. I recorded the raw video of the Honda the day before I recorded the intro segment where I changed the default units from metric to imperial. Rest assured, the settings do persist and you don't have to change them every time.

thanks! Can this reader help in diagnosing other systems such as ABS/SRS etc? I see that it supports resetting some of them but does it give live data for other systems e.g. AT or ABS or SRS like more expensive scanners?

Unfortunately not. It does not read transmission, ABS, SRS, or body module codes. I think that's what keeps this from being one of the ultimate DIY or lower-end pro scanners.

it supports it . the vehicle does not support a function the tool is capable of . for example if the car does not have vvt it cannot show a data point for it .

Do you connect scanner after starting switch or before, I see you connect only on ignition but if you need know RPM you starting with scanner connecting? Regards

The ignition switch only needs to be on to read stored codes but to read most real-time data, start the engine.
