Hi Terry, it looks like you're really enjoying retirement based on the content you're uploading. I recently bought a new LC300, so this video caught my interest. I'm not sure if this gadget would be useful for me since I already have the Scangauge 3. However, you can never have too many toys in the shed. I really enjoy all the videos you produce, but I keep coming back to the series where the JAFFFA crew fixed up the Suzuki ute... it's a great example of Aussie mateship.

Thanks for the kind words and the support Tony, I sincerely appreciate it. The little Suzi is still going strong and is used as a daily driver, just the way it should be. This little gismo has a lot more capability than the scangauge units. It's a reader like scanguage, but also can make modifications via the ECU. I'll drop your name in the hat for the giveaway mate. Cheers

Nice work as always Terry, I'd use the Launch Creader for 2 200 series, had my old man call me today from lightning Ridge with the standard dash lights flashing in his 200. Talked him through the possible faults and checks he could do without a OBD2 reader (I have a scangauge to reset/read faults). He managed to get on the road with a stressed wife, and the fault cleared after the second stop and battery disconnect. He still doesn't know what caused it though so we will investigate when he gets home, would have been great if he'd taken the Launch Creader for his trip! P.S. About time we had another 40 series LS video! From a fellow 40 series tragic!

Again another good and useful review Terry, and one way or another I will probably pick it up myself. I considered the Techstream, but my challange was that I would need to get a pc laptop, as I run Mac's in the house, and I also thought that the laptop would need to be reasonably good to take the knocks. This little gizmo looks pretty robust and most of all its small size will be able to easily fit and go anywhere. I will also likely share it with my brother who run's VW's (Golf's, Jetta, Toureg V10) and a Prado, so it will get extended use. All the best, Andrew PS I trust your holiday went well, or maybe you are still on it. 👍

Hi Terry, honest review of the Launch ODBII scanner - I like that as it gives me the necessary confidence to act on the information given. I used to own a Land Rover Discovery 2 on which I did pretty much all of the maintenance and adjustments on the engine, airbag suspension and brake system - just to name a few - using a scanner dedicated to Land Rover models. But I recently sold the Landy and it made sense to give the scanner to the buyer of my Landy so he could benefit from its use. I know just how useful a good scanner is so when I bought a 2015 FJ Cruiser recently, I was on the hunt for a good scanner. And you have just convinced me of where to look! So it would be logical to get one of these - but better still to get one from you. All the best on your travels amazing!

Another great video Terry I really enjoy watching not only your trips but the work you do on the 200series. I also have a similar model to yours and the technical information you provide is a great help. One thing that I really like about this video is, I got a glimpse of some of your data pids. This is very helpful, because one thing with using scan tools whether it be tech stream or anything else is trying to work if the data from the tool is normal for your particular vehicle. Diagnosis is all about data, and knowing what that data is telling you. So your review of the tool has pretty much sold me on getting one, and getting a slight glimpse at some of your running vehicle data was also a great help. Hi Terry, great video. I’ve been mulling over buying this unit as I couldn’t get my head around the tech stream. Looked at a few reviews but liked yours because as usual you tell it like it is in normal speak! Impressed with the capability of the unit in theory but glad to hear your comments to reinforce what it can do. I too liked the fact that our other car can be downloaded as you said. Ours is a 2009 so similar to yours. Well done on the giveaway as you could have just utilized for yourself. Thanks for the opportunity to be in the running for the giveaway away. Cheers Pat.

Nice review, had a Techstream with my 100 series, always found it cumbersome and was happy to pass it onto the new owner. This looks more like what I would use more easily and consequently more often. Particularly like the ability to save data. Off to the Canning next year (failed to proceed this year 😢) and really enjoyed your videos of your trip. Made my better half more confident that we could do it too. Love your work, keep it up.

Another informative video. I have a 2011 VDJ200 that’s done 400k now and it’s still running original injectors. It runs flawlessly, with good power and fuel consumption in the 12s/100km. I’m wondering if you noticed a change in how yours was running that prompted you to check the injector values or was it purely curiosity that made you look?
@JafffaAdventures2 ай бұрын
Cheers Ashley, I appreciate the kind words. I check the injector values every service, have done for years. I watched the injector values slowly deteriorate over time, not a sharp or drastic change over a short period. I’ll drop your name in the hat for the freebie👍😎

Hi Terry, before you replace the injectors, do check the compression on 4 to ensure that is not related. I hope that is not the case for you and look forward to the injector change video.
@JafffaAdventures2 ай бұрын
Thanks for that mate. I have been monitoring the injectors every service (5000km intervals) for the past 100,000km. Although it certainly could be a dying cylinder, I doubt it given my experience with these vehicles and my modification and service routine. With an odometer at 280,000km, it's time to swap all the injectors out, number for has just pushed me over the edge, LOL.
@Alex-hc7vt2 ай бұрын
@@JafffaAdventures I had similar and needed a rebuild. It’s worth a check. I would not want you to change injectors or open engine up to realise it’s bigger than expected. Thanks for the video Terry! Few questions, I've been in the market for a scan and monitor tool for a while, and still am trying to decide. Can this monitor EG temps too? What would be the difference between this and ScanGauge 3? Would it work with 2019 VDJ78 as it's not listed in the compatible vehicles, but neither is your 200, but still works. Cheers
@JafffaAdventures2 ай бұрын
I appreciate you tuning in and commenting mate. This unit can monitor EG temperatures, but only if you vehicle is fitted with a sensor that allows this. My 2010 model does not have an ECU monitored EGT sensor, so no go. I know the later model 200's do so it would work for them. I cannot see why this unit would not work on a VDJ78, but do not have direct experience. I'll drop your name in the hat for the giveaway mate. Cheers
