Had my SeaRay 400 SB in dry dock last week for pre season preventive maintenance. Changed the blade on the bow thruster to a new 6 blade curved configuration. 70% increase in efficiency and can’t hear it when using it. Also checked the rudder positioning and adjusted the rudder actuators and auto pilot. Ran it up to 24 knots on the way home from the dry dock. Smoooooth

Those posts are x 4 per side, vs x2 on a Marine Travelift, so there's that. Plus, the posts on a Marine Travelift provide more than just vertical lifting strength, but support for the overall structure as well, so they are probably a little stronger looking in that respect. As you say, this system works fine and has been doing so for more than 50 years at this location.

@@8560mkkem As mentioned in a previous video, due to the last minute change of marinas last year, it was too late in the season to get ours done. Check my videos from last season to learn more on the changes...

Hey Paul, They must drag the support beams backward off the fingers to the main dock? Or do they drop them in the water & fish them out?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo 3 ай бұрын
They merely drop one end in the water, carry the other side to the shore side and move 'em away on a roller. Then a tow motor takes them away for summer storage on land. A straightforward process.

You may have said i just missed it. But has thought been given to the dingy
@BoatingWithBoogaboo

Yes. Thought about it for about 10 seconds and the answer is no to a dinghy 😂 Perhaps in the future, but currently we don't have need for one. The last one was bought new in 2021 and we didn't even get close to the 10 hour break-in period for the outboard, so sold it at the end of the season 🙄

How often do you need to paint the bottom in fresh water? Like never?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo 3 ай бұрын
If the bottom paint is in decent condition, I'd say every 3-5 years - or longer. Ours just looks dirty, as I never got a chance to wash it when it came out last year, but in good overall condition.

how much is a slip like that worth...per month??
@johnperreault116
@johnperreault116 3 ай бұрын
Marinas can be a little persnickety. In California they charge by the linear foot. Instead of using the manufacturers stated length, say 40’. They add the swim platforms and bow spirits, so a 40’ vessel will be charged 45’. At 18 bucks a foot that adds another hundred bucks to the slip rental

I'm not familiar with their monthly rates, as we are brand new to this marina. That said, if you contact Anita (office manager), she'd be happy to forward you all the details; www.starportmarina.com/

Interesting. All of the marinas we've been in over the years charge by the slip size for dockage. Other services are usually charged by the foot.
@johnperreault116

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo They force you into a larger slip by not allowing the swim platform or bow spirits to overhang on either end, then charge you for the extended length, all by the linear foot.
