Had my 25 key MK3 sitting in a closet in favor of my NORD controller but I wanted a smaller desk footprint since moving and took it out again. Bought the Cubase 12 upgrade and to my surprise it said "Cubase" in the Launchkey window! What a great surprise. Looks like I can store my Steinberg CC121 remote away to gain even more desk space! Kudos to both Novation and Steinberg!

May I congratulate you on your tutorial, you've totally sold this to me and convinced me to go for this as my main controller. The integration is outstanding, particularly as i like to mix group tracks but also need control over CCs on faders. Amazing work.

I like your video, it helped me get started with cubase and launchkey.. though around 43 minutes of your video.. when you started to color your tracks.. I got the tracks and mixer just as you but I I couldn't get these colors on my launchkey... they didnt change anything..what did I miss? anyways.. I envy you for knowing how to play keyboard.. I don't know such I just learn what sounds good and try to make something out of it :) and even if its good,,, remember most of us are newbies so show more than once what you do..to do anything ..its hard otherwise to know exactly what you pressed or not ..still u were great

Hey ! I have the same problem i can see the colors on midi remote but not on the keyboard pads (still white and red) . If there is a tip, i take it^^. Thanks for this tuto .

I love how the pads are on the correct LEFT side of the board... why anyone would put pads on the right if you are right handed is just crazy to me. I can trigger pads and play at the same time no crossover.

Great vid. Thanks. Tossing up at getting a Komplete Kontrol and looks like the Launchkey is the go for cubase. Just now deciding on the 49 or 61. Bigger is not always better. I notice you have the 49. Any thoughts?

It's great to hear that you're considering Launchkey [Mk3]! The Cubase integration really is worth trying out. In terms of features, the only difference between Launchkey [49] and Launchkey [61] Mk3 is the number of keys to work with. If you require a larger range of notes, you might want to also check out Launchkey 88 [Mk3] which has the same features but benefits from a premium 88 note semi-weighted keyboard.

This was a fantastic video for where I'm at with my Launchkey Mini! THANKS MUCH!! I like Cubase as a DAW but haven't been successful with integration as shown. My Launchkey isn't the "FLKey" model, but an earlier one meant for Ableton. It will not light up into DAW mode on connecting. Is it still possible with these models? Anyone?

OK, so I thought I'd give Cubase a try again. Reinstalled it, plugged in my MK3 mini and it fired up in DAW mode!! Maybe I updated Novation firmware, or there was an update to Cubase, not sure?! Anyway, I'm all set now. Woo-hoo!! 😁

Fatal flaw: You CAN NOT select multiple tracks. Seems like you have to spend $1000 plus to control this! Also Arturia Keyab 88 could not be gotten to control Cubase 13.

We're sorry to hear that Launchkey doesn't function as you'd hoped. Why would you like to select multiple tracks from a controller? What kind of workflow did you have in mind?

I got new launchkey 61, and I am trying with cubase 13 trial (also in cubase pro9 licensed version). All seem to be working fine, But the solo/mute mode got stuck in there, unable to exit. By default it always goes to SOLO/MUTE mode. When I remove the USB cable and restart cubase and plugin back, then at one point of time I got normal selection mode. Again If I press the SOLO/MUTE button it gets stuck there. I am sure it should be some settings issue, But I cant figure it out. Could you help please?

@@NovationTV Thanks for the response. I did factory reset once, and it works in cubase 13. However still it is not working in cubase 9 pro. Btw -except solo/mute and click, other function works in ver9.

@@NovationTV yes I would definitely love that. I’m pretty sure quite a few people would. Being I compose on Cubase And and here is a nice integration with Cubase and Novation. A weighted key Ed would be perfect along with all the controls

The Launchkey mini works like a charm in Cubase 12 and I really like working with is. But you can't use the pads for track Selectuon, when it comes to midi tracks. They just stay white on the launchkey und pressing the pad does not select the track. Will this be fixed in a Firmware Update?

Glad to hear that you're enjoying it! We appreciate your feedback on this, we'll look into that. The functionality within Cubase is largely determined by the dedicated MIDI script within the software. If you find that it doesn't quite provide you with the control that you had hoped for, you could create your own template too.

What have i learnt here.... your music is good..... what else have i learnt.... launchkey is supposed to be realy easy to connect... what i havent learnt... how it connect... doesnt do hardly anything you have stated here.... or should i say i cant make it... and ive spent hours scrolling through vids but to no avail...

Launchkey [Mk3] doesn't have a note repeat feature built into the hardware.
