Thank you so much for your amazing illustrative clip, had an issue with mine, got a plumber $200 to just replace the cartridge, which didn’t fix it, I did it myself and changed the whole thing at a few dollars. Thanks again for sharing this 🎉

Why did you unscrew the top part of the faucet if all you needed to do is remove the faucet when you unscrewed it from underneath the sink anyway?
@Barney93324 Жыл бұрын
I wondered the same. I saw another vid that did nothing at the top part

Very good video. The radio playing loudly in the background was a big pain in the butt.

Sorry about that...I didn't pay attention to background noise back then

Ok first of all I am a women that has been waiting not patiently for one of my dear friends to come over and replace my broken faucet. Needless to say I got tired of waiting. So, after watching many videos on you tube I figured let me give it a shot.... Well after wetching this video at least 5 times I decided to give it a shot. I already had everything so.... Moving everything out of the way. Ok so I followed the video. Everything's going great. I even caulked the sink which wasn't done previous. I check everything im SUPER PROUD I f myself ... Here comes my said Daughter 15 yes. Old with two of her friends. There like what are you doing?? Check this out I've been waiting four weeks for someone to come do this. See if you pay attention and stop whining you can do anything yourself. So here goes..... Turned the values back on. Checked all the hoses, bolts you name it. The freaking hoses are backwards. The red goes for hot. The black for cold. Yes everything went great except they are on backwards. Can you freaking believe it.... Moral of the story before you caulk let the water run.

This is the reason I make these videos....glad you were able to tackle this yourself instead of paying someone or waiting around forever. If I can do it, anyone can.

Thank you for sharing this. I have the same limited access and removing the pea trap will do the trick. Excellent!

So couldn't you have just removed the hose connections and the big black plastic nuts under the sink, without disassembling the faucet first?
@SevenFortyOne6 жыл бұрын
Yes.. Im not sure what I showed in this video but I remember thinking I could repair the faucet so I took it apart. When I realized I couldn't find repair parts I replaced it.

Exactly! no need to disassemble the top of the fixture.

Thank you. Your sink and faucet are just like mine, bought glacial bay to fix leaky hot water, BUT the connector is metal and is soldered to the intake thingy instead if the usual mesh aluminum connectors I’ve run into. Rats! This house was built in 1855 but I’m sure somebody more recently did this. (Been here 20 years) first time hot water valve leaked .

Look into cutting it and using a shark bite connector

Good fix! When I lived in Ohio I occasionally would have my pipes burst or separate. Thumbs up!

Good video but you did not apply silicone before attaching the faucet which is a mild no no. I came here to see what type of silicone you used, or I wouldn't have said anything.
@SevenFortyOne2 жыл бұрын
It's been working fine since this video was posted so it can't be that important
@thomaswolf65072 жыл бұрын
@@SevenFortyOne I agree, actually. Probably going to skip the silicone as well unless I happen to see it on my way out of the hardware store. I just read the directions - actually got the same faucet as you just the chrome model. Love the 3/4" attachment as well as I injured my right arm and run a micro fish farm, so I can't handle water swaps anymore. Building a refill system similar to a Python kit operating on the Venturi principle. Don't mean to be a nag, the comment was really just a highlight of how little I know about silicone - mainly because the only kind I can use is food-grade for tilapia.

No plumber's putty or calk around the bottom of the fixture?
@SevenFortyOne5 жыл бұрын
You can use it if you want...wont hurt anything.

The sink is not even 5 years old. Its dirty because its in my garage and I use it to wash greasy/oily parts, paint brushes and things like that - its in much better shape than it looks. to sort of borrow your analogy, replacing the whole tub would be like replacing your mud boots because the laces broke...

How has the faucet held up? I just bought the same model. Thanks.
@SevenFortyOne6 жыл бұрын
It has held up fine since I posted this video. In my case, I have to remember to shut off the water source and drain all of the remaining water out before winter sets in since I have no heat in my garage. Otherwise, I'll end up replacing it again in the spring!

Thanks! I'm planning on changing my garage sink to a bigger one so now I know!

Why change out a faucet alone on a old filthy EL Mustee utility laundry tub without replacing the tub? The entire kit is about $80 including tub, faucet, P-trap & connecting hoses. www.homedepot.com/p/MUSTEE-18-in-x-23-5-in-Plastic-Laundry-Tub-12C/202041452 That tub is so old it will crack long b4 the faucet ever goes out again. It's like wearing dirty socks with new shoes ~~~~
