The Juki is a great machine ! If you take the black rubber under the foot control and turn it over and put it back in it will stop it from cutting the thread. It used to annoy me as well and was told to do that . X

Enjoyed your show. Am looking forward to the BOM. I have the Juki TL-18QVP and just love it! When my friend comes to sew, she wants to sew on it. I am not sure there is a big difference between the 2010 or 18. You might need one at home and one at your office. Happy Birthday!

On my older Juki, it has a connection from the foot pedal to the machine, separate from the power cord. I unplugged the cutter connection and only use the cutter on the machine. FYI

What is the other sewing machine you are going to try? I love Juki machines! I have 3 … the TL2200QVP mini, the TL2200 QVP long arm and the DX7….to be honest, I rarely use my DX7. The straight stitch 2200 is amazing!

You will get used to the cutter on the pedal and it’ll be your best friend. Does yours have knee lifter? Once you start using them you can sew so much faster!

Not sure of your location but here in NC, thankfully I have not found that to be true. It is very comparable to other high quality quilting cotton here.
