I am glad they published this. She was a great singer and a great human to sacrifice popularity to take care of her sick husband. May she be remembered for the joy she brought to those of us who danced in the 80's.

She reminds me of Celine, not only vocally (in terms of key only, not in terms of tone/ colour of voice or emotive quality) but also in term of her love for the simpler things in life and her love for her family and close friends. She wasn't a diva going to parties or demanding special treatments. She was so incredibly humble and that made her so special I think.

This video was surreal. The ladder she speaks of was at my father's home in upstate New York. They were dating at the time. I am probably one of the few people that have a copy of that new album. She gave it to me before it was released. Due to her passing it was never released. R.I.P. Laura.

Fell in love with that voice on an early single, "All Night with Me" and played it at KFTW. Atlantic sent me a copy of the LP, and I fell in love all over again. By the way, that 1990 'unknown', self-titled LP, produced what might be my favorite song of hers, "Never in a Million Years". That song still stops me today, and not just because she's gone. Stayed that way; still in love today. Be at rest, Laura, knowing we do love you.

I bought everything you released here in the UK, and always felt your record company didn't do enough to promote your singles (The Lucky One & Spanish Eddie, for example) and back you as an artist - shame on you Atlantic records. So she played at a carnival....,,, I can say this at least she lived her dream up till the night she fell asleep on August 25 to never wake up on the 26th... she had guts and a voice for a woman who believed in her style of music.. some of these comments make me sick just by how people respond or comment,, let's see some accomplish what she did in her life.... Well here I am on the beach back in 1960 in Atlantic City by the boardwalk, I've seen a lot of rock and roll bands in my life and was just skipping through some songs and ran across the song called Power of Love and was song sung by a girl by the name of Jennifer Rush, who also wrote the song and did a fantastic job and then I ran across another girl I didn't even Laura Branigan who had a famous song back in the 80s called Gloria I remember this song like the back of my hand, she also recorded the song Power of Love and did a fantastic job with it, I'm just so sorry that I had to find out that she passed away at a young age of 47 years old, didn't know much about her but now I do and I do believe she was a fantastic woman and what a shame, looks like she had a heart of gold and to lose her life at such a young age it's devastating, may God be with you Laura forever and ever just remember you got your word across To All the Girls by the name of Gloria,. Her a capella bits of "Gloria" she casually busts out are incredible - and such a contrast from her soft speaking voice!

I remember when the song 'Gloria" came out I was 10 years old and never forgot how popular it was. I used to record songs off the radio onto cassette tape and that song featured highly. What an amazing person she was. What an amazing voice. So sad we lost her so soon. She still had plenty to give, just like Prince, Michael Jackson, George Michael, Freddie Mercury etc. Seems like the good do die young.. R.I.P. beautiful lady..
