Laura Branigan - Self Control - Murano Glass Factory (1984)

Laura Branigan performing at a very special and rare place called "Murano Glass Factory" in Venice, Italy on 1984, probably during her Self Control European Tour to promote her third album and hit single "Self Control." In this extraordinary video we can see Laura wearing a bright gold shirt and her classic belt, (typical and very distinctive of the "Self Control" era) performing in a glass factory, a really unusual place for a pop star but, you know, Laura was so spontaneous and humble, it's also another attribute for what we love her. She's in front of the oven and surrounded by workers shaping beautiful crystal figures, is fun to watch the moment when Laura is approaching to one of them and sits in front to seduce-joke, look his smile while molds a duck, he looks a bit nervous. For moments she looks behind to see what they are doing, great unusual moments!!!. Dedicated to all fans of this wonderful artist, enjoy it!
This video is one of my favorites, was originally uploaded by the user Olenev Yura, whom I give all thanks and credit, sadly all his videos and his channel were deleted but fortunately I could save a copy of his rare video. I still remember the impression it gave me when I first saw it, it's for me a priceless treasure that today I want to share with everyone.

My goodness I forget how gorgeous she was & extremely talented & sexy. As a teenager during the 80's, I was into Rock/Metal but of course knew of Laura. In the early 80's Laura hooked (her voice) me in a few minutes for rest of my life.More I got to know her, it only got better all the time. I've lived my life without seeing Laura live. Yes, this has been my own fault. If it is now be possible to go to her concert I would go even in the middle of Russia. Only chance to see the new videos of Laura is left .Thank you for sharing

i never got to see laura in concert,,but I met her and kissed her on her left cheek off her face !! I was a musician ,,we were playing at kings island inn,,next to kings island amusement park,,Cincinnati ohio,,laura did a concert at timberwolf at the amusement park,,afterwards she came over and that's when I met her,,and asked if I could kiss her cheek,,she said ok,,i got her autograph,,and I also got to jam with her band !!!

Cool, as always... I imagine, what if she went to our glass factory at that time. The name of factory was "Marietz", it was in my village in Russia. Abandoned buildings are still standing in the center of village. The conditions of work in the gutta (hot workshop) were hard. Air temperature was 50 degrees and above. And there was a poisonous dust flew in the air. Workers become crippled when they reached the age of fourty years. So, I think, Laura wouldn't prefer to sing in our factory.

See this is what happens when you let women in the workplace. I sincerely hope she was stripped of her CIEH award in Health and Safety at Work after this shift. A disgraceful example to set the young buck with the glowing bulb at the back there. At the very least she should have performed in a welding helmet. I spent the entire video worrying she was going to end up with all hot globs over her face, flushed neck and hair. Excuse me I've got to go to the lavatory.
