I love that pot. And I like listening to you when you are seated and working in one spot; you sound so relaxed. My dream is to sit beside you someday and watch you work, while surreptitiously pocketing the stuff you are throwing aside.

From Australia, Laura, you were the reason I started collecting succulents. I so love your spectacular garden designs. My husband and I have completely changed our garden over to succulents. Sadly, our population doesn't justify establishing succulent nurseries. We mostly have to buy online. Here in humid Queensland every one of my 40 or so Aeoniums never flourished and succumbed to Mealy bugs. Our choice of plants is basic. I make identical pots and swap them around monthly to keep there growth even. With indoor plants I buy 2 identical plants so I can rotate them weekly from inside to my shade house. Works a treat I love you holiday house. I'm so jealous!! Do you see any UFOs? Mt Shasta is a magical area for unusual phenomenon.

Thanks, Laura, for doing this video. I really needed it. I'm trying to get my husband to watch it. No luck, so far. I have two succulent pots that desperately need redoing. I haven't redone them because I know his reaction. If he doesn't watch this video; he is going to be hollering at me, "What are you doing!?!?" LOL! You should see these pots. They are way leggier than the pot you redid by the way. Love your videos!!

You should keep an eye out for echeveria blue frills. I have one as a specimen pot in my collection, but i bet it would make a great arrangement plant. It's the largest echeveria i own. I got it in a quart size pot and it's in an 8ninch pot and its leaves are about as long as the pot is wide.

Hey Laura. I've recently come across your videos--great job sharing your designs. I'm in The Bronx, NYC, and I too have cacti in my sun room and in my garden. Our summers are sub-tropical so watering is a tricky thing. I'm curious to know how often are you watering your in-ground cacti vs. the ones in pots being that you're in super-sunny SD, and may not get as much rain as we do out here. I know you get a lot of emails so I'll be patiently waiting for an answer if you're able to. Thanks in advance.

Can hardly absorb and process all the tips in this video. Cuttings versus rooted plants needs of water and light. How firesticks can fill a pot with roots. Possibly needing the same soil for twin pots to create symmetry in growth. How aeonium kiwi might do better in summer than other aeoniums that retreat further into dormancy. How to take into consideration seasonal heat before creating arrangements for sunny areas. But finally how not to fear pulling out and resetting overgrown pots. P.S. please get one or two bigger rosettes for that second pot. The asymmetry you pointed out will keep me up at night. Also you've sparked a desire to create a Pride rainbow 🌈 succulent arrangement for fun.
@LauraEubanks3 жыл бұрын
totally agree. May wait to add larger plants to that second pot until the fall.
