Hi Laura et al, I've hesitated to write this, but as there is no other way to communicate my thanks, this is it. Over the past 2 years, I have lost my mobility because of medical issues. I work all day, sitting in a chair, trying to take care of my family, and can't seem to fight off becoming more and more depressed. The only reason I say this is because I wanted you to understand how much I appreciate your cheerful personality. Playing your videos cheers me up. they make me feel like perhaps I shouldn't give up completely. Your work ethic is inspiring, your positive outlook is infectious, and both you and grant seem like "Salt of the earth" type people. Thanks for sharing your experiences online. They are much appreciated. and really make us all feel great.

Not sure how your video crossed my path but wow folks. I swear if I could reboot America, I would ask for your permission to make you two the new faces and role models of America. Especially to the younger generations. You 2 are proof the Merican dream is still alive and it looks like you guys are in the process of living yours and that is fantastic to see. Thanks for your contribution to the country and for giving the world a peek into the life of real hard working Americans and showing them dreams are still real and reachable if you just try and just work. May GOD bless you and watch over you 2 and your family now and for all of the days of your life. Keep up the fantastic work and videos you are doing. And Grant, try the Otter Box. In your case, the military model. Semper Fi..

Grant - couple things that might help, 1- Otter Box your phone! Ran a tree farm for years, only thing that would allow me to keep a phone longer than a month! 2-Pop the clutch in 2nd, not 1st. Not as hard on that tiny tranny, but easier on the plate & will usually kick it over.

the clasp on the battery power switch has a hole in it which allows operator to padlock the power in the OFF position. Years ago some engineer(s) decided to use a binary code which uses zeros and ones. So, 0 = zero and I = one. I guess they assumed everyone would know 0 = zero = no power
@hawleygriffin1800 Жыл бұрын
So generally when you have an intermittent starter problem and the battery is good (always the first place to look) it's commonly a carbon burned spot on the copper ring in the starter solenoid and not the starter itself. When you put the ignition key to start, it energizes the solenoid and creates the magnetic field that drives it forward to make contact. Particularly on an older vehicle like Grant's Geo, that's had thousands of starts, that contact can arc a little bit in the process of making the connection. If that carbon from the arcing process builds up enough, every time the solenoid stops in that spot, it might not be able to make contact. If you have time for a project, you can pull the starter and then take the little solenoid unit apart on the top of the starter and sand the carbon burned spots off the copper ring and the contacts.

8:40 I used to buy Speck phone cases, until one day I watched EveryThingApplePro dropping all the phone cases video. Speck phone case simply doesn't fit and protect your phone as you might expected, snd it's kind of on the slippery side (I use the presidio clear case on my XR and 6S back in the days) Later on I went back to OtterBox though I think the design is kind of old and boring but it gets the job done, and I also use Apple leather case, not that protective but has a nice grip. For the harsh farming environment maybe UAG is still the best option.

I have a SPIGEN brand cover for my mobile phone, and an after market ZAGG blue filter glass over the front. When the phone fell out of my pocket while laying up cinder blocks, the front filter glass was cracked and gouged, but the actual screen was fine. I just peeled off the cracked glass and stuck on a new one, I always keep a spare on hand so the phone “doesn’t go out without it. The SPIGEN back is rigid plastic about 1/16” thick, the edge wrap has shock absorbing air space in the corners to prevent damage if it lands on the corners. The cover is much less slippery and easier to hang onto.

I was watching this video today, yeah I know a little behind, anyway, I also use iPhone and my choice for phone cover is a LifeProof. Have been using them for many years, this is something you might want to look into. Also not a bulky as an Otter Box cover. My phone easily slips into back pocket of my jeans however I normally carry it in a belt loop side pouch. I do construction and a belt 'clip' has never been my choice because if pouch hooks on something it always came un-clipped, hence belt look style. Anyway just an FYI.

Another old man piece of advice. If you are going to be working on big rusty equipment, get a high quality breaker bar. It is like a big ratchet, but without the ratcheting mechanism. A swivel head is great for getting into tight places. It might seem pricey at first, but it will save you from replacing ratchets every time you break or bend one :) Another thought, since Laura is setting up her own tool box, it might be a good idea to set up one box for 'shop tools' and one box for 'field tools.' Fill the 'shop box' with the best tools you can afford, they will last a lifetime and you will enjoy using them every time you pick them up. Fill the 'field box' with the cheapest harbor freight stuff you can find. I often misplace the field stuff before it gets a chance to break.

If a switch can be locked its only in the off posission. The towing vehicle is the one who gives the strenght of the rope/chain or whatever you use. Its kinetic energy:1/2 multiplied by mass multiplied by velocity multiplied by velocity. All of the towing vehicle. So the rope was not strong enough for the towing vehicle. Nice to see the tracker. You guys are akway have trouble starting equipment:) Do farmers use starter carts in Nebraska? In Wisconsin it is pretty common to have a homemade started cart on farms. They are usually three or four beefy batteries mounted on a hand truck or small utility wagon. They can be wired in parallel with permanently attached jumper cables. I like to add a battery cut-off from an old piece of earthmoving equipment, a trickle charger so that I can plug the thing in when I am done with it, and replace the spring load clips on the jumper cables with vise-grips. It is a great shop project for a high school student or new farmer who wants to learn to weld :)
