Where I try to share as much experience and information as possible in under 30 minutes. (This is yet another supplemental video for my current watercolor class. I thought it might be of interest to you, my online artist friends, as well.) :)
Edit: Here's a link to the handout I made regarding Winsor & Newton's pigment names: drive.google.c...
Topics covered:
-- The most fundamental rule of watercolor
-- The connection between backruns and lifting
-- Basic mark-making with a round brush.
There will be a few more of these in the following weeks. Stay tuned for the ongoing plein air/studio vlog series, as well.
CLASS MATERIALS LIST:
-- 140 lb. Cold Press Arches paper
-- No. 10 Round Princeton Aqua Elite travel brush
-- 15 piece Winsor Newton watercolor field kit (see video for paints needed)
-- 2 clear plastic/jar water containers
-- 1 package facial tissues (unscented)
-- 1 sketching pencil (preferably 2B or 4B, but any regular pencil will do)
-- 1 kneadable eraser
-- masking tape or painter's tape
-- A well-lit work surface that can be tilted

That's what I like best about watercolor -- it's a true partnership. You have to be relaxed or confident enough to allow it to exert its own influence, because it will! You have a good straightforward teaching style. Too many people on KZbin substitute bluff and bravado for substance.

I know, right? Watercolor can be either the most frustrating medium or the most sublime -- and it can be both, sometimes all in the same painting! Lol. So good to hear that I'm on the right track regarding instruction style; I appreciate your seasoned feedback. Basically, I'm trying to be the teacher I wish I'd had when I was starting out.

Haha maybe TOO productive. I'm a bit scattered with it all, but am still making a brave attempt, nonetheless!
