I’m watching with tears in my eyes. Reminds me so much of trying to get detailed recipes with my Mexican Mother in Law. She cooked with her heart so it was challenging. She passed almost 3 years ago unexpectedly at just 67 and I wish I could have those times back of cooking with her and watching her show love to us with her cooking. Cherish your time with your sweet Nonna (as I know you do!)

Just saw this because I had to goggle the recipe because my Nonna made this and I can’t remember how. God bless your Nonna and I’m so happy you still have the luxury of her being with you. The fact that you also learned the language is beautiful. I got robbed because they always said “English around the babies!!” I found out because they felt we’d be treated differently. OMG Laura!! It's exactly like me and my dad!! Same dialect, same love of cooking and same hard time to get the exact quantities. My dad is 93, still cooking everyday wonderful recipes.
