I have followed this channel for many years and am not confused about anything you're doing...you've updated your plans extensively... your shop is really coming together, congrats!

Same. I learned a long time ago, to just go with the flow with this channel. Honestly, most maker's channels. Life changes, plans change, objectives change. It's all part of the journey. She said before she will be in USA for several months, get some distance from the house and get back to normal 'making'. Spend time with her new family, then go back and finish the house. I am sure she has an idea of what will happen then, but I am also sure, by the time that happens, plans will change. That is life.

As someone who works in construction I understand the annoyance of wearing safety boots in hot weather, but at least you only have to wear them on the job. Wearing a cast 24/7 for weeks or months, or a prosthetic for the rest of your life is a much bigger commitment. Don't choose short term comfort, choose long term comfort.

Assembling heavy machinery barefoot...what a baller!! But yeah, my hiking/work shoes are steel-toed. They have preserved my toes from crushing/amputation at least three times over!

I am overseeing a large project as the representative for the owner, the house is in its final stage, the builder told contractors to remove their shoes before entering the house, I yelled at every single one of them, including the builder, told them either they put their shoes on or they go home, nobody works on a site I am on in their socks, way to dangerous. I have worked 38 years in construction and have always worn my steel toed work boots. stuff has fallen on my feet and I was once cutting some wood leaning over and the saw kicked back, ran right across the toes of my feet, so Happy I had the steel toes, came out unharmed. you just never know when something will happen at work.

On the one hand, yeah, we've invested viewing time and emotion into projects like Haus Liselotte but, on the other hand, it's your life, Laura, and you're allowed to live it however you want without needing to justify it to a bunch of online strangers. I'm just glad you're content, fulfilled, and happy.

I'd just like to say that any questions I might have about your plans for the new shop, LA vs Germany, the house, etc, are purely based on curiosity and 100% free from any judgment. Your videos have given us a glimpse into your life and now I'm invested in the story of it all.

You have had massive changes in your life, so people should EXPECT there to be massive changes in your channel/schedule/projects. If they are only here for Liselotte, then they have really missed the point because the rest of us are here for YOU. Your creativity and problem solving are inspiring. Your way to -usually- go with the flow and push through are inspiring. And even when you do get down, you talk through it, take a step back, re-adjust and move on. Inspiring. So, basically what I'm saying is: You do you. Those of us here for YOU will stick around. Scroo the rest :P

Laura, please look up the concept of "normalization of deviance" -- getting away with risky actions over and over with no penalty until your number comes up. At times when you are holding a workpiece in one hand while applying an angle grinder with the other, I have to stop watching. It's not just about you now. Think of your family.

So exciting getting new toys to play with! And I love watching the coloured clay go on the walls of Haus Liselotte. It's so satisfying! People better not be giving you crap about moving to LA in the middle of your house project. In the immortal words of Craig Benzene, look into your heart, listen to your heart, follow your heart. If you get that opportunity, you gotta take it. Family is more important than a place, and you only get one chance at life, so there's no point spending it half a world away when you can spend it with your family.
