Smudo´s Wooden Dogbed with Round Corners

This week i built a new bed for my dog smudo
I wanted it to be made of wood but i was looking for a more modern shape than the regular boxform.
So i designed this bed with rounded corners. the cuts are 15 degrees. he already loves it :)

Me too. Very fancy way of approximating a rounded corner with a large radius. I would have maybe rasped the corners round though. I love the precision of your work.

Your videos are one of my favorite things about Sunday mornings. Thoughtful designs, cleverly presented. The editing, music (always great), length (lean, no padding) all combine for a most enjoyable 5-8 minutes. Always satisfying but leaving me waiting for the next vid. Bravo. That's really one fancy and beautiful bed. A couple of things you might think about for next time are biscuits or splines in the corners, as end grain glue joints are really not that strong and no glue on the dado holding the bottom. Not sure if you glued it all the way around, but if you did, it doesn't let the wood move with humidity changes. Hopefully it will hold together for you over the seasons and years. You are really making like a frame and panel door with this project and with doors you have to allow for this movement.
