I would really love to see a whole video on just brushes. . . sizes shapes what to use them for. . . .with out specific brands, just like what you should look for with a brush
@mariar11607 жыл бұрын
Rebecca Claybourn girl I usually don't even use brushes as their intended. it just depends on what look you're trying to achieve. some ppl like applying foundation with a sponge, others prefer flat brushes or both depending on what type of foundation you're using (cream or liquid). and I think eye brushes can be used for anything just depends what size you need in the moment. try things out and see what works for you and what you prefer😊

There's something to be said for building up product little by little... Not only does it prevent you from going overboard, but it also lasts longer. It can even give shadows that are lacking in pigment a bit more of a punch. I don't like wasting product, so when I go in to a powder bronzer or shadow... instead of tapping it off, I pat it on the back of my hand or wrist. It takes off the extra but also allows you to go back into your hand to pick up a little more product. I'm talking a tiny bit, but I find that sometimes that's all I need.
@yolodawg92107 жыл бұрын
That’s actually good advice. I waste sooo much product by just tapping it off ,ill be sure to try this next time 😉

Hey Laura ur makeup is great! Since school time is kinda coming around again can u do a tutorial for senior portraits? Something that could be more natural, like how to make yourself the best version of you?
@leticiaviveros95297 жыл бұрын
Speaking of powder foundation, can you do a video using powder foundation. I notice you mainly use liquid foundations. I have some powder foundation that I would love to use but I'm not exactly sure how to use it. Please and thank you 😊
@emilylitteck84627 жыл бұрын
Letiyonce I know I'm not laura but if you're going to use a powder foundation do your liquid concealer first (if you use it) and you can use a foundation brush just like the one she used in this video! and I personally find small circular motions gives the most even coverage and I use very little product at a time 😊
@jennat20047 жыл бұрын
Letiyonce I'm not Laura, but this is what I do; if it pressed u can use a like powder puff to rly press it into ur skin. Or sometimes I use a loose powder foundation and I use a small brush to put a lot where I want on each side of my face to make sure it's even then use a big powder brush to blend it in. Also definitely do liquid concealer first.

Hey Laura. Your makeup always looks so flawless. Can you do a tutorial on how to properly use your brushes and different techniques to use? I have a y6 and m439 and I just feel like all my foundations always have brush strokes and and don't look flawless. I've tried mac brushes as well so I think it's something I'm doing wrong. It would be nice to see other types of brushes too.
@TsundereNami7 жыл бұрын
Misty Jordan I think the best way to apply foundation with a brush is to stipple it first on your face and then start blending it. Then you can over by swiping a bit on your face to make sure it's all blended. Swiping on foundation to your face don't always give the best results to me. That's what I've seen people do when they apply foundation with a brush. I hope that helps. :)
@michellerhodes54777 жыл бұрын
Misty Jordan. I have a bunch of dense brushes I use for foundation. My favorite is the Sigma F80 flat top kabuki but I have a Zoeva, Real Techniques, and an e.l.f. brush I like too. I just like the brush to be really dense. As Stephanie said, I like to stipple it on then blend. But, for me to get the best application, I apply a thin first layer with a brush since it generally gives more coverage. I then go into some of my trouble spots with a second layer using a sponge. I finish off my application by using what's left on the sponge to go over everywhere else I didn't apply a second layer. Going over everything with a sponge after a brush gives a beautiful and flawless finish. I do set my entire face with powder because I'm oily.
@sherryprevento33987 жыл бұрын
Misty Jordan I have that problem too. So what I do is use the brushes cause for me it's just quicker then to use a beauty blender alone. So what I do is use the brush then just quickly bounce my beauty blender all over to get rid of strokes.
@atkern267 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue a while ago and just switched to a beauty sponge. Elf has a really cheap and good one if you want a less expensive version of the actual beauty blender.
@mistyjordan56627 жыл бұрын
Sherry Prevento I also feel like the foundation just isn't sitting nicely on my skin. My nose never looks good. I'm using smashbox primer I have the regular and the pore minimizer. I've tried drugstore foundation and high end. I just don't get it. I didn't use to have this problem.

you forgot to say that when cutting the lashes you have to cut them from the outer corner not the inner corner. A bunch of girls are gonna fuck this up.

medusamakeup626 I cut from the inner. it works better for me that way.
@kandirain_11727 жыл бұрын
elizabeth greer Depends on the lashes. If they're the kind that gradually get longer from inner to outer corners, u can get away with it. But other lashes, u'll look like u put ur lashes on the wrong eye or backwards.

Omg Teni says the exact opposite thing Go darker with your foundation as some parts of your face may be darker than the other parts and you can lighten your complexion with concealer I prefer the darker foundation as being a woman of colour lighter foundation can make me look grey or ashy Glad that their are no rules of makeup you can do whatever you want
@racheledmonds57967 жыл бұрын
Saba Nazeer the only problem with foundation that is darker than your skin is blending it with your neck and having it match your body. As long as it matches it's all good. Lol
@arielbrown4777 жыл бұрын
Like Rachel said I think you should go with a foundation that matches your body. A lot of people who self tan don't do their face, they just get a foundation that matches their body. I think she was just saying don't try to look sunkissed or darker with foundation if it doesn't match your body, if you wanna look darker use a bronzer
@megiandr7 жыл бұрын
Saba Nazeer yeah but Tati's saying that because she has a tan on her body & not face, so she matches her face with body with darker foundation. Laura doesn't have tan (or not as much different body&face shade as Tati) so she meant don't try to trick people you're having a tan with using darker foundation

i appreciated the tips, but i feel like a better representation would have happened if you used the same products and brushes on both sides. this way it really shows that you can have the same products and how the differences happen. :)
@kandirain_11727 жыл бұрын
shanny Allen Ummm... she did didn't she? The only difference I recall was the concealer. What else was there? (not coming for u just wondering)
@Shannyfrizz7 жыл бұрын
Kandirain _117 all of the eyeshadow was different as well. To do a true side by side the same tools, colors, and products would be more appropriate. I still thought the video was great but would have a greater impact in showing how you can have the same exact product and brushes but make tweaks that really have an impact
@kandirain_11727 жыл бұрын
shanny Allen The shadows came from the same palette and for this video, the point seemed to be people making "bad" decisions with their makeup (ex: no transition shade vs transition shade; darker foundation to look tan vs using bronzer). But I see where u're coming from too. Maybe a separate video tho...
@BriannaChristineWorden7 жыл бұрын
shanny Allen that was the point of using different colors. She use the same brighter color, but she used transition shades on one side.
@Shannyfrizz7 жыл бұрын

I loved this video SOOOO MUCH! I usually shy away from eyeshadow especially anything that is really vibrant, and sometimes I look at my eyebrows and think wth they looked so good yesterday! 😩 but I can never figure out what I am doing wrong! I watch so many videos, literally EVERY SINGLE DAY and I can never find a tutorial that isn't just putting a look together but actually helping in comparing what you could be doing wrong. This video just helped put everything into perspective! Love you Laura lee!
