What a fun video Laura! My favs were Barbara Stanwyk in "Double Indemnity", Rita Hayworth in "Gilda" "Lady from Shanghai" and "Affair in Trinidad." Claire Trevor is fabulous also in "Murder My Sweet." "Nocturne" is a lesser known Film Noir, but the style of all the ladies in it was fantastic! I want to check out "Blonde Ice" which I have never seen. Leslie Brooks plays lead. She was in several other movies at that time

Barbara Stanwyck was a great femme fatale! But my favorite Halloween femme fatale is Elvira! You should do a video on her!

OMG! Would love to see a video focused on the vintage beauty of Morticia Addams (1960s) , Lilly Munster (1960s), Vampira (1950s), and Elvira (1980s)

I thoroughly enjoyed this video which cheered me up and empowered me today. My fave as far as I know of any Femme Fatales is Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct

I am enjoying this video so far, but I believe viewing the archetype of the femme fatale as a patriarchal fear is shortsighted. I believe the archetype of a manipulative, attractive woman is as old as humanity itself. Humans are dangerous, that means both men and women. While men were more directly tyrannical, women have always had to be more underhanded. Pretty, popular girls who gossip, shame, destroy reputations, and manipulate are a tale as old as time.

I think men and women can be all of those things- tyrannical, underhanded, gossipy, etc. it’s just more socially acceptable for women to be more underhanded and men to be more directly tyrannical.

I think there are two main types of femme fatale: the animalistic devourer and the super rational / manipulative one with no mercy. I never really been interested in this archetype but I been told often I have a strong aura of this energy. In my 20s I wore Mac in Media and Rebel and now I always wear NYX powder puff in Prank Call ❤ other than that a nude face.

You did a video on Marlon Brando's eating habits. He didn't care -- that's why women loved him. Girls love a man who indulges in life.
