There are other routes though, like the hard rock wizardry of Steve Vai and Guthrie Govan, the compositional complexity of Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders and Yvette Young of Covet, ... Single coils. Thank the Gods that John is here to punch the tones that modern music seems to push aside. Everything has to be fat humbucker dirty tone. Definition and the silence in between is every bit as key to quality tone/music, as the notes and hand manipulation performed by a master.

It's actually not a triplet. It's a grouping of one eighth note and two sixteenth notes.

Steve Jordan and him swapped instruments in a few of his older shows live. He’s a decent percussion player, definitely due to his great sense of rhythm on the guitar. What’s more impressive is his ability to keep in time with a Steve Jordan playing bar chords lol.
