Another fun way to use embossing folders with the gel press: use your embossing folder to embossing a panel of paper. Then roll paint(or ink) onto you gel plate. Use the embossed paper to lift some of the color off your plate, the. Pull the print. You get cool texture for your gel print, PLUS you get some cool color in your embossed panel! I've only done it one time (one printing session), but I got some awesome results

Wonderful ideas! I have so many embossing folders that I rarely use, so I will definitely give these ideas a try. Little tip- when using a spray on the gel plate, if you put down a thin layer of matte medium first, the spay won’t bead up & you’ll get a good print from it. Versamark can also help with that, too. Same if you’re using reinkers on the gel plate- matte medium or Versamark first will give you a better result.

I LOVE using my embossing folders and have tons of them yes regular and lots oldies but goodies……lots of 3D folders and Impresslits…etc and your ideas totally blew me away…..can’t wait to do this and even your share using your gel plate….Ives never had a gel,plate because never would do what others (artists) do but fun to watch…but I WOULD do what you shared also LOVE my Distress inks and colored Ink Pads and again never knew about the distress sprays…so will get a few of these ……so I WILL be playing and creating today with what I have and hubby will make a craft store run for me sometime this week!! You can also adhere the top layer of a paper napkin before embossing. Apply glue stick to entire cardstock base then press onto the backside of the napkin and brayer to adhere.

Oh my goodness! I've never heard of or thought to do double embossing. The "instant replay" cracked me up. Ooohhh and you brought in gel press printing. Be careful it's so addictive but massively fun. Drop, roll and pull. But how do you keep your plates so clean! Mine are always a mess. You're amazing!

I love the speckled egg one you didn't use - so much potential with a little time. Eg, layer up and/or coat with a coffee wash. I've found embossing makes just about any coloured paper look fab! Thanks so much Laurel :D

TFS. I don’t have many embossing folders & certainly not any 3D ones. Although I don’t have any washi tape, that was my favorite. I too have a cuttlebug & love it. I recently bought the Magic mat to use since my plates are no longer. You are lucky to still have the Cuttlebug plates to use. BTW, appreciate the idea of using what we have especially when all these companies are showcasing their new releases.
