I used to think the same but here me out First of I think expectations was a experimental song for Lauren coz it's definitely different from what she has produced with fifth harmony or outside of 5 H. Personally I loved it and thought it's better than a lot of generic pop songs that is being produced now. Secondly this was her first solo song after fifth harmony . And it was just Lauren vocals , not a collaboration . So they were testing the waters to see how popular she is and let's be honest the popular fifth harmony songs her parts was very small ( expect I'm in love with a monster ) for many like me this was the first time I heard her voice with any interruptions . And also a lot of ppl thought she couldn't sing coz she had less parts in songs . And now we know that's bushit and she is a good vocalist. And thirdly she is yet to drop an album . She has been working on it and will drop it this year. Once she drops her album I think she will start promoting more and will gain popularity ( Coz I liked all of her songs so far and I know she won't disappoint ) And finally Lauren herself has told she has anxiety , so even if she has prior exposure with 5H she might be taking it slow on purpose . From the interviews I have seen she is an intelligent and an articulate women ( something that we scarcely have in the present music industry ) and she hasn't really been shy about how taxing her schedule with 5H has been . These girls has been working non stop for a few years now so they deserve a break . And she would have kept this in mind when she signed her contract with Columbia records Watch out for Lauren's album when it drops
