Tien will never be as strong as the others, but he will never stop trying to be the best version of himself. He is putting everything he has just to buy time. It shows just how amazing this chapter truly is and why he was one of my favorites. He was under utilized in Z and super but in Dragon Ball (OG), he was considered Goku's equal for a time until the Piccolo Saga.

@@zy1an I definitely disagree with Abridged being better than the original. It can just feel that way because it addresses a lot of the problems with the original, while being funny with how it accomplishes that. But that doesn't necessarily make it better. More like the characters are written with the hindsight of the fans having already seen what was going to happen, rather than in the way that the characters would be more likely to perceive the events.

I love DBZA for what it is and I’ve probably watched it more than the actual show but there’s no way that DBZA is better than the original. DBZ wasn’t perfect but Toriyama (rest in peace) made one hell of a story with this one

Also, I *love* all the Mecha sound effects when 17 is beating the everloving snot out of Cell! As a fan of giant robot anime, Gundam in particular, hearing so many of them just gives me the warm fuzzies. Activation sounds, a beam sound effect, and the impact sounds, I appreciate each one of them so much! And I also love 16 yelling, and using, "Rocket Punch". A *classic* Mecha attack, you just *can't* go wrong with it!

In the original story, Tien kept Cell down for a few hours (like 3) making way for 16 and 18 to escape. A mere human who kept this 2nd form Cell down who was WAY stronger than any Super Sayians, Namekians and Androids at that point, it was insane feat which should've not been possible for any of the human characters to do.

The Androids have met Trunks, but have no idea who he is. Which is touched up a bit more clearly in the actual show, because their databases have information on all of the heroes except for Trunks. Which, from what I recall, is remarked at some point in that they have no idea who that one guy is, despite having extensive knowledge about everybody else. As for Cell trying to drink Android 16. In the actual show, Cell struck 16 there because according to him, that part of the neck contains some chip or part that can completely disable Dr. Gero's androids. But 16 doesn't have that component.

I don't know if anyone said it yet but despite Tien lacking any ability to actually cause Cell legitimate damage, he did manage to hold him off for HOURS. so I like that he most likely made a huge difference even if he didn't cause Cell any real damage.

The thing about Tien's attack is that it goes off of his life energy, not just his ki energy. That's why it does so much damage even though Tien isn't as strong as the other characters. Every blast he does drains his life. He's fully committing to completely draining his life and sacrificing his life just to buy time.

Ever since I saw episode 48, I've used a certain line from Semi-Perfect Cell. Specifically, I use it whenever I either blast someone in a game with a huge beam cannon or attack and get to see it from their perspective, or I get hit by such an attack. "Aw, that's adora-SHIIIIIT!!!" But 47 and 48 have some excellent lines, a good number of them from 16.

Oh man oh man oh man yes I'm so hyped for this I was hoping it'd be these two episodes next. You did ask that a couple episodes back. And his response...so nonchalant, so cold, so chilling...perfect. 12:34 Yup. It does that. I saw the original episodes as they were airing on Toonami here in the states, and to this day it still makes me shiver. ...Yes...he *does* look like a clown-frog in his second form. I can't believe I've never thought of that before, it's so spot on. So perfect. Imperfect Cell doing the disclaimer read on episode 48 was signifying that he's more or less gone now. Semi-Perfect Cell has taken the stage. Fun fact: that fake 17 that happens in episode 48 was based on an insane number of comments and the like that TFS got saying that 17 should talk like that ALL THE TIME. Personally, I'm glad they worked it in for a short bit like this. THE POP! WE FINALLY GOT TO THE POP! It gets so much better every time it happens... YAY, DOUBLE FEATURE! Looking forward to the next reaction to this, as always!

Fantastic reaction to some really good episodes. Sorry about the trauma, cause yeah, that's a lot to take in at once. On a slightly related note, we actually do see how many cities Cell absorbed through confirmation, so put a pin in that for a few more episodes. And on a much for amusing note, the lip thing Cell does is call a Bilabial Trill. Yeah, I was surprised to find out that it has a name too. Some fun trivia to help you decompress from the episodes.

I would still say best time for movies is after 56 as there is in-universe break time between 54 and 57, but it's the last time I'll throw in my opinion regarding this. If the majority opinion prevails, so be it ;P The Return of Cooler has a spoiler from 56 Android 13 has a reference to Return of Cooler Broly movie is more or less the peak of the movie series and references to being in the middle of Cell saga. Cell Games mini series, literally no other sensible time to watch than between 56 and 57 and works as bringing you back into the series after the movie binge. The Plan to Eradicate Christmas feels like epilogue of the movies so can be left for after ep 60 epilogue. If you do want to get a special/movie in after ep 50, I would say do DBZ Kai 2.9. It was an April Fools initially released as DBZ Kai 3, but is actually a movie format abridged episode covering the arc that was cut short after ep 31. By movie format I mean that it has a one-shot big bad, his funny minions, and is resolved within the episode, and it has none of the typical Kai rapid fire jokes pacing. It would have been best done after ep 31, so there is no good spot to place it now, so you can do it either whenever you feel like you want to insert a movie in or leave it until the end together with The Plan to Eradicate Christmas. Or if after the end you would want to quickly go through the Kai series, you could just do 1 - 2 - 2.9 - 3 - 3.5

SPOILERS forget being useful tien is literally the only one to not fuck up here piccolo lead cell to the androids the androids didnt run vegeta doesnt kill cell and krillin doesnt detonate the androids. Trunks and tien are the only two z fighters to actually help, if all the others didnt even join the fight things would have ended in cells defeat, and at most tiens death.
