I hear you... the "both sides" argument about offense vs. defense is a tale told throughout history. Should Custer have fallen back at Little Bighorn to a more defensible position, or could his headlong charge have broken through the ambush? The arguments go back and forth... which led to the concept of "command decision", because doing nothing would have been far worse.

The issue between the salamanders and templars doesnt talk about their enemy. When an ork leader or warboss is killed, it breaks the cohesion of surrounding orks, and causes chaos as various orks vie for that open position. The salamanders should know this and understand their enemy when standing in defense of innocents. Its not always about glory, the templars understood that killing the warlord woild be just as effective to protect the people, if not more.

They were not there for that. They were there strictly to defend the citizens. Them being only 70 in number meant they had too few brothers to follow their orders (defending) and forming another smaller group to assist the templars in assassinating the Ork leader. Them choosing to go for the Ork and loosing many civilian lives in due to abandonment would have been the real failure to them.

If you like Astartes that are kind to humans, you could read about these: -Space Wolves -Ultramarines -Crimson Fists -Lamenters And if there are more, you guys write them down. But for me, my favorite chapter are the Lamenters.

@@ChicagoReacts yea, there are many chapters that are friendly to civies. They have their own ethnicity too. Like Space Wolves are vikings, obviously, Lamenters are like a mixure of Greek and "catholic" depiction of angels, Ultramarines are romans but the Crimson Fists, they are cool and different, they are a mixure of Spain and Portuguese culture, their chapter master is Pedro Kantor and captains like Alessio Cortez, Caldimus Ortiz, Selig Torres and so on, since am a spanish speaking person (not from Spain) they actualy a cool chapter since they dont go "taco taco burrito" marines.

@@c4ns3r53 Not ethnicities. I think you meant "cultural similarities". Most chapters are comprised of different ethnicities, including white scars, salamanders, and space wolves.

I have a lil' issue with Salamanders. You see, Bricky's All Chapters video wasn't really correct saying that the Salamanders are the most caring for human lives. In my opinion it's Raven Guard. You see, Corvus Corax was raised on prison-moon full of falsly accused people wich later was liberated and become Chapter's Main Fortress by name Deliverence. Corvuses main shtick was fighting tyrants and saving people and here's the thing why I think that Salamanders are overrated: When Salamanders saves people (either it's devastating losses or not) they leave. But Raven Guard stays. Even tho they are wery short on marines after Horus Heresy, they are not only left contingent on saved planets, not only they teach locals how to perform a guirilla warfare and help make them effective trench lines so they would lose less people no matter the enemy they have the planets always on alarm with they main forsess. Especially the ones near Deliverance. More to that - they prime mission is to look over Empirial planets and if there is some asshole governor ruiling the world they would appeare from the shadows and remind them that Raven Guard have little patience for tyranny and that Empirium needs a proper command in any important position. Even some stories like in Baldemort's video tells about people hiding from orks in cave for Emperor knows how long listening to Greenskins shooting and yelling only to find one evening some rations of food and water, loaded lasguns and silence in the distance. When they left the cave they saw warriors in pitch black armour and deserts covered in Ork bodies - the Raven Guard saw them and bring them food and guns in the middle of operation and that's says alot 'cus they running stealth mode all the time. They don't really show they care for humanity through words of kind but rather actions even in battle. The silent protectors of Empirium and innocent. When Salamanders save people they left them amongst corpses and rubble but Raven Guard stays to help them build and preserve and teach them how to prevent it in the future, also left some Emperors Angels amongst them to train and keeping people save. That's just some things that people usually doesn't talk much, all it's canon and just an explonation about harsh words of "overrated Salamanders" so you see my point on the take.

Apparently Math isn't held in high regards with Black Templars. You Chase a Warlord into what is undoubtedly a Trap, and you'd probably end up loosing a lot more than 2 Soldiers AND Civilians.. all for 1? Forget about it.

yes because killing the warboss ends the war. It's only him being clearly bigger than the rest that makes him in charge. Warboss dies, orks all scatter and spend a week minimum looking for a new boss, if not skip the planet entirely. There's literally an I WIN button on ork armies if you shoot that one guy.

​@@DavidMyrmidonLOL so confident and yet so wrong. The Warboss is the only thing that brings focus to the WAAAGH! Without him, the Orks descend into infighting and become far less dangerous. No Ghazkull = no major Ork threat until the next great Warboss gains enough momentum. And these Orks setting a trap??? 😂😂😂 priceless
