Lauren's First NASCAR Flyby!

Took my friend to her first NASCAR Race on Saturday - the Andy's Frozen Custard 335 Xfinity Playoffs race. One's first Green flag lap and fence-side flyby is always a memorable experience as nearly 40 stock cars wiz by at an exhilarating 180+ MPH! The sounds and speed of NASCAR at the track is a beautiful sensation that everyone should experience at least once in their lives!

I’ve always loved NASCAR. Even if you are not a fan, if you ever get to a race there is no way to explain the power you feel in the roar from the engines and the rumble under your feet. It’s exhilarating.

the first time I went to see a NASCAR race when I was very young I reacted the same, the roar of the V8s is incredible

I use to live right up the road in Denton, Tx. I loved going to this track. Indycars were also fun to watch there. Loud and proud in Texas.

I’m from the Bridgeport/Decatur area, going to Fort Worth or Dallas we always had to drive by the track, I’ve been there once when my dads job had given us tickets but I’ve been to Ennis a couple times for NHRA racing. Never seen Indycars.

I remember taking my wife to her first race at Daytona in 2004, our freshmen year of high school at the bud shootout cause we were both born and raised and still live 20 mins west of DIS and I brought her down to the fence, back then the lower part of the grandstands were 30 feet from the fence and I'll never forget her reaction she said " holy fuck babe you can feel the power of the cars going through your whole body I always thought nascar was boring I can't stand watching it on TV seeing it in person has me hooked " Since that day we go to speedweeks every year.

Texas is an awesome place to watch a race. My youngest daughter and I sat near the track for the fall Cup race. We had tire rubber pieces all over us after the race

Man my first race was at Sonoma. I was seated at turn 3 and hearing the cars roar in the distance and suddenly pop up over the crest of the hill was awesome. Moreover the sound the cars produced while they cramped through a right hander was incredible. 🏁

My first NASCAR race was the 2023 Phoenix March race, and my god was that fun. We had seats in the middle of turns 3 and 4 and could see all the way around the track. The restarts were soul rattling, and after about 20 laps and the cars spread out, it turned into a beautiful V8 Symphony. Awesome!

If you ever get a chance, go to a track that has one or two cars just practicing on it. That lone engine roaring of the opposite wall from you is hauntingly beautiful. Ive heard from inside and out.

Hi Leuel, I’m here to remind you that I will begin my IRacing journey tomorrow and I might need some help from you. First off, for the steering wheel, I’m using a Logitech styled wheel and I know how to connect it. Just go to their website and connect it for the first time you use it, but when you turn off the computer, do you have to go back to the website and connect it again or it stays connected? Second, I’m the reason using the sim is that I want to become a professional driver in the future, but I know it’s not the only way. Third, how do I fit in? I might be joining IRacing races hosted by the NASCAR KZbin community and I might join them to practice against sim pros. Thanks Leuel and wish me luck!

@@Leuel48Fan dang they were letting you guys by the fence? I was at the 600 weekend and they had security everywhere near the steps lol

@@BrendonH2112 You can get as close to that yellow line (about 1yd off the fence/wall) under green. Sometimes security tells us to keep moving or move back, but they usually don't mind for a few laps. Everyone storms the fence on the last lap at the finish tho lol

@@Leuel48Fan surely not tho normally dying stages of the race a lot of them get hungry to go for aggressive moves for the win and wrecks can happen easily especially if there was a caution not long ago and if one flips and goes into the fence people could get seriously injured right?

@@tommykalamakis Airborne / catchfence crashes aren't REALLY a concern outside of Daytona / Talladega, but then again anything can happen. The higher speed tracks have farther limits like when I went to Daytona few months back.

Ive been around dirt track all my life...theyre nothing like it. The violence rawr of the V8 to watching the cars slide around and watching the back tires fold on every slide, and you feel the cylinders pop in your chest..nothing like the sweet smell of racing fuel

Did you take her up top on purpose? My track is ATL and when I go I make sure to get to the highest point in the grandstand without earplugs. Sound and smell just simmer up there. It's such a rush.

They are meant to keep cars from going into the stands. I mean when I car flys into them it rips them apart but in the end it keeps people safe

Can keep the cars out of the stands. Sure if someone hits it, debris can penetrate thru, but that is extremely rare at a 1.5-mile track.
