We're 2 years on and still people are upset about this, mainly #11 😂 It was absolutely 100% against existing rules of that time. From the moment he made contact with the wall the trackside marshals should have had yellow flags out. Unfortunately for the #11 and fortunately for the #1 the marshals didn't have enough time to mentally process what was happening and the #1 rode the wall like it was his destiny. The sheer luck that was on his side that fateful day is mind boggling, the car wasn't wrecked, some wheel alignment and suspension damage, but by no means a right off. This is easy to replicate on video games, doing it in real life however is near as makes no difference IMPOSSIBLE. The wall held up, the car held up, the driver held up, the chances of all these variables coming good are truly something else. Nobody will ever beat his lap time because no nazcar will ever have the kind of downforce and power needed to achieve the speed he got through turns 3 and 4. He made nazcar history, and good on him for having the guts to do what had never been done and come out of it with a moment in motorsports that will never be forgotten. 👏👏👏

I finally got iracing and after a few days I can say I finally understand what he means by pickup cup being undrivable lol. After about 2 laps I’m good but the first 2 holy crap, you got to keep it loose early cause of how tight it gets later

I live in the UK and i listened to it on the NASCAR app when i heard he got wrecked and i thought he was out of it until i heard he made it in the Daytona 500 it was a sigh of relief. I like him but i wouldn't consider him as my favourite.
