I planned my wedding in 5 mos and cost $300. We had about 50 people and a reception at our favorite restaurant. It was amazing and relaxing. It is possible and as long as you know things may happen out of your control and the ultimate goal is to share your love in front of God, your friends, and family - everything will be great! At the end of the day you will be married and starting your life together. ❤️ congrats and have a blast planning!

I love Lauren's personality! She is so mature and responsible about her wedding. So many women do "all the things" for their wedding because they feel that is what is expected and tradition. They also worry about what other people are gonna say about the wedding and that affects their decisions. Lauren is confident and is doing things HER way and that is awesome! I did my own wedding as well, I had a lot of family that donated and made things to help. In 20 years I have never once regretted saving all that money. Good for you Lauren and Matt. Everything looks amazing, I especially love the 3 strands of cord are not easily broken' OMG, that is amazing! And Amy, I love how you give your kids the freedom to make their own choices, whatever makes them happy, but you also give constructive advice so they have a different side of things to think about as well.

💝Love Lauren!!💐 Our date was 9-1-91 Got married in sister's living room. With about 20 family members. Total with wedding rings and all spent $500 our cake was a sheet cake with a heart in the middle of it. That a family member bought from our local grocery store. We was together 23 years. Before he passed away. So happy for you Lauren and Matthew may you be blessed with a lifetime of happiness.

So amazing and fun! Watched every minute. Very smart young people! 16 years ago I spent 15,000 for my daughters wedding (and that was just location, reception, flowers and cake) I cut every corner possible (in my mind). I made things myself like the wedding favors, a decorated bird cage for cards, bird seed (rice bags), table decorations, etc, etc. It was beautiful but yours will be just as beautiful Lauren and saving a ton for important things. Very wise!

Congratulations Lauren! If I could offer one piece of advice, plan for rain. If it doesn’t happen great, but if it does, you’re ready! I had a feeling, that the day I choose to get married, it would rain. Guess what, it did! I’m so thankful that I had the day setup for rainy weather. Wow! was on my way to bed but couldn’t miss this isn’t it exciting. Lauren is so organised and I know nothing will be left to chance. Flowers are beautiful colours and whether you wear white or ivory your going to make a beautiful bride Lauren. Love the flameless candles I use these at home all the time and so handy too if the power goes out lol! The tables look so cool and very pretty. You could buy a bunch of disposables cameras and put them on the tables and people can grab them and take pictures then they turn them in after the wedding .so exciting , I’m so happy for you guys . The newer take on that, since most people have cell phones that they take pictures on, is to have an Instagram hashtag that people use when posting the pictures. It's a fun way to see everything people chose to share about your day. And there are so many services that will print books of Ig photos so they can keep the lasting memory.

Save extra piece's of your bouquet 💐 and make a smaller one for tossing that way you can keep the original for yourself. Also save the top tier of your wedding cake in the freezer to pull and enjoy on your 1yr anniversary😊

The cross with cords is so cool. Our wedding them was "tying the knot" nautical and we actually tied the knot that cannot be undone. I ended up putting it in a shadow box with our wedding photo of us tying it. LOVE all your ideas!

My son and DIL had a DIY wedding. We did everything except the food. She splurged on her gown(we went to Kleinfeld’s in NYC) and also pictures because in 25 years pictures are all you’ll have to remember your big day. I have told my daughter the same thing about it being one day out of the rest of your life together. It is such a good idea to not start your marriage with that debt. A young lady in our church got married a couple of years ago. Each family pulled together and asked to help her however she needed. Someone did the flower arrangements, someone made her cake, others took her menu and divided it up and helped prepare the food, some did setup and tear down. It was so wonderful to see everyone come together to make her day so special. It so reminded me what a friend told me ,that it takes a village to raise a child, because every person influences our children in so many ways. Word of advice, enjoy each day leading up to your wedding day. Don't stress out because it will all come together in the end and you will look back each day with joy. Her wedding reminds me so much of mine..we had a fall wedding outside in a cazebo we had the leaves on the table and used wedding isle runner as table runners is was so much cheaper and pretty..we had a local florist make the falls colored flowers..3 boutneers 3 mother's flowers the bride flowers and I stead of a cake topper made a small bouquet that went on top and he had an archway which he decorated for me(the flowers for it was his) all for 110 dollars..way cheaper than buying a bunch of flowers and making them yourself. Congrats!

Love the decor Lauren, Simple/elegant/cost effective. Many of the things can be used to decorate your home afterwards. With the lanterns/table runners/candles/votive candle holders (because they are non-holiday specific) can be used & reconfigured in many different ways. They would be great to reuse & decorate for many parties/holidays/baby-bridal showers/gatherings going forward that you might host.

22 years ago, I planned my own wedding. It cost us $8,000 and we catered 350 people for that price!!! My dad worked with a guy whose daughter got married a month after I did and he paid over $100,000 for a wedding with 150 people!!!! He was so mad when my dad told him how much mine was!!!! Their wedding is going to be beautiful! Simple and elegant are so nice. I didn’t have any money for my second oldest daughter’s wedding but she wanted a strawberry short cake buffet, so we bought brownie mix, angel food cakes, strawberries, and all the the things to go with it. It was a hit! Small mason jars filled with candy were the table decor. My oldest we had a little bit of money plus her husband’s family helped out a lot but we still kept it simple and elegant. Y’all are cute working it all out and it memories that will last long after the wedding.

I love this.. When my husband and i got married we wanted it to be about us.. Not about a big show. We had disposable cameras on all the tables so we could have "real" pictures. We got to see things through others eyes. It was great. They are some of my favorite pictures. Weddings should be ALL about the bride and groom. It should also show who they are as a couple. A portable steamer , I’ve seen that they are used at fancy venues and they are used for curtains and table clothes, the wrinkle free table cloths really make a huge difference. So happy for you Lauren God bless you

Love your channel Amy, it’s got me inspired to get stuff done. Lauren you got this wedding stuff. I did my own wedding as well and saved lots of money. I live in Las Vegas and had it at a local casino but I printed my own invitations, made my own centerpieces, and take home gifts. I even had activity books and coloring books for the smaller children that were there. My wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses were made for me all I didbwas buy the material because a good family friend/seamstress I babysat for made all the dresses. The most expensive thing was our honeymoon we took a 7 day cruise to Mexico. I think my wedding and honeymoon was around $7000 total and that was 15 years ago this month. Love the theme you have and look forward to seeing it all come together.
