It’s because of you I read children’s books! It’s from your recommendations and book club! I missed out for so long as left them all in my childhood so thank you! I don’t feel embarrassed walking over to the middle grade section in the library anymore and I get excited to reserve the next in the series just like with any adult book. It’s guaranteed happy ending and usually has a moral.

Of course I read children’s books and for the same reasons you mentioned! We are never above stopping what we’re doing at work (a bookshop) to read a new picture book aloud to one another. A treat! i've also listened to Alison Steadman's memoir this week! I really enjoyed it, although I expected a bit more anecdotes about filming Gavin & Stacey. All in all, a lovely book. She's so nice. oh, Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Lauren! 💞 100% Yes! To be fair, I do have a son who is nearly 11 and I read a lot to him. But even before becoming a parent (in my thirties) I read picture books (usually aloud to my dogs as picture books are meant to be read aloud and my dogs just happened to love it) and I likely always will because I love how authors have to be so succinct with their storytelling and I love the combo of art and words. And I love middle grade and YA as well. I so often love the themes in middle grade books. I love a good YA historical fiction because I like seeing that world through a young person’s eyes. When I’m in the mood for something spooky, middle grade is about as scary as I can handle 😂 (I love the Thickety series).
