Dear Lauren, I just want to tell you that this video kinda broke my heart in the best possible way. You brought such openness and honesty to a type of video that is too often pure disassociated fantasy. I have loved your work for a few years, and this video really brought home why I am such a big fan. You showed your viewers such authentic humanity here. Thank you so much for being yourself, for being brave enough to be so open. Please know that the work you do is deeply meaningful and important. You have literally made my life better, made it easy for me to access moments of real happiness. Thank you, thank you. 💕

Serious kudos to you for celebrating your bathroom space, making it your own without spending $100K on it. I’m sort of sickened by the current trend to completely trash a fully functional but 20 year old kitchen/bath because someone doesn’t vibe with oak cabinets-they must be ash (that they then paint 🤡)!!! The same people who crow about their carbon footprint, electric cars-but then trash a functioning room because it’s not 150% their vibe…the level of “first world problems” in social media is disheartening. Thanks for keeping it realistic!
@YuckyMama2 жыл бұрын
@KJ I don’t think I’ve ever heard Lauren trash anyone on her channel. On the other hand, *I* was being critical of people who do to-the-studs knock-down renovations on perfectly good rooms just because the room isn’t 3000% what they want; while crowing about it on social media like *everyone* can afford a $35K bathroom renovation the moment they take the keys. People can spend their money how they please, but personally, I’m much more impressed & inspired by super-creative, economical & environmentally friendly updates rather than money-is-no-object tear downs. *This is my opinion lol*
@joyousenoful2 жыл бұрын
@KJ the “trashing” in the original comment was about literally demolishing something, not trashing other people

I love the "real-ness" of this kind of video. I have always thought that in your makeup videos you look so perfect and put together - I forget that most of you youtubers are normal people. It's nice to see you without makeup and with a real bathroom like the rest of us who aren't millionaires have. LOVE this so much!

I NEVER watch home makeover videos because I hate watching the unachievable level that are shown, I made an exception because I love you and your content and so glad I did, your home is beautiful, quirky and achievable to the normal everyday person and now I love you even more ❣️
@ems_h.eartnotes2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Let's normalise making the best of older bathrooms and kitchens, and any other room for that matter. My house is fairly old and a doer upper. We've been here 4 years and have acheived ZERO renovation due to lack of large amounts of funds, health issues etc. But we can still have things organised and looking homely. If it takes til we are retired to be renovated, I'll be fine, it's a home not a show. Great video Lauren, love your approach to this! And it looks fantastic! 💎💎💎

Understand Pcos totally been battling it since I was diagnosed in my early 20's in my early 40's now, It's a battle deciding between fighting it tooth& nail vs just saying f**k it and just letting it have its way! Every woman has to decide that on her own no one way is right or wrong. I know woman in both camps ones who say I can't change it so weight gain, hair issues, hormones, depression can't be changed, but personally believe if I'm willing to fight it I will, I'm100% a fighter! I fight the weight gain, cysts, insulin resistance, the hair growth issues, the depression and anxiety that comes with. Its a struggle but it's do able! So hang in there you aren't alone.

Good for you! Hey! As someone with PCOS and lots of the PCOS chin and facial hair I wanted to share that buying an epilator was among the best things I've found for it! Since my facial hair grows quickly, very much like men's, I don't get the 2-4 weeks that non-pcos people say they do but I def get a couple days and it's pretty fast and more environmentally friendly. Only downside is it's uncomfortable at first. I also have the rose gold leaf and love it! ❤️

I got the Braun Silk Epil 5 which was the highest in my price range and from what I've read everything upwards is much less painful. Lots of people recommend the Silk 9 iirc

I also love the Leaf razor, but have found that it doesn't work on my face (I get PCOS thick face hairs lollllll). I ended up buying a safety razor that also uses the same recyclable razor inserts--I found a cute rose gold one on amazon that matches the Leaf razor so they look cute on my counter lol! I low key feel like it gives me a cleaner shave than men's disposable razors used to!

My bathroom is very small. There's no room for any sort of sanctuary. :( That's kind of weird that you don't have a full-size tub -- there's room for it, but the builder or whoever opted for that wee RV-sized one. I'm with you on the facial hair. So much hair, except for on top of my head!
