The scarf: If you’re one that holds a shoulder bag by the part where the strap meets bag, and *especially* if there’s a bronze and brass buckle there, the oils from your hands will destroy the finish on that spot over time. At the very least, you will have a spot on your bag that is discolored, causing uneveness in the coloring. I damaged my first luxury bag this way. When I went to clean it, they explained to me that scarves tied to bags are actually functional, in that you tie them where you grab the bag, and it protects the leather or buckles on the bag.

The earings have a card that links to a much more expensive earing. The websight link is for a DIFFERENT product. The ones in the vogue calendar are gold plated brass. The ones on the website are gold vermeil stering silver. The value difference is over 100 dollars. the black roller is a a 90 cent white label item.

So true that U.K. luxury calendars are better in general, they really put the effort in. I lived there for 20 years and still have friend ship me over 3-4 calendars that I can’t get in the US- and they’re still worth it with the added shipping cost. And if you want perfume, get the Jo Malone calendar- you can pair their scents in several ways so you get way more variety in just one box. Worth it!

I’m sure you’ve seen all the info about Perioral Dermatitis, but what really worked for me was simplifying my routine a TON. I don’t wash my face in the morning (or only use moisturizer after a shower or something) and then in the evening I cleanse my face with Osmia Organic black clay facial soap and I moisturize with Avene Cicalfate. I haven’t had a flare up in 4 years. I’m pretty sure a complicated skincare routine was what caused it for me in the first place unfortunately :( I hope this can help someone who’s struggling with PD! 💗

i also struggled with perioral dermatitis, had it for 3 years. i tried absolutely everything and was prescribed steroids and antibiotics, none of which helped. it was a really difficult time as there were times i could barely open my mouth and my self confidence was hit hard too. i exhausted nearly all medical and natural options. ultimately, only five things helped me: -the uriage cica thermal water lip balm applied to my rashes -pink salt diluted in water sprayed onto my rashes -drinking thermal water every few weeks -switching from tap water to bottled water -quitting all use of lipsticks and lipbalms putting super hydrating, oily products on my rashes felt like instant relief but only made the issue worse. also, i stopped using fluoride toothpaste and chewing gum as i read that it can be a cause.

Also, finding a non-foaming toothpaste. My skin is way better on a simple routine. When I was using vitamin C, acids and retinols even at very minkmal amounts mycskin barrier was so compromised.

I loved my Foreo when I had it. I had one of the original Lunas for YEARS. Like, years and years. I got it as a gift in May of 2014, and it survived to 2021. I would 100% get another one if I could afford it. It felt so nice and luxurious to use. It did make a difference in my skin texture, but felt super gentle and was like a little nightly face massage. I probably used it more often than I should have (almost every night), but it wasn't a harsh exfoliation, so it never made my skin feel dry or over-exfoliated. I used a really gentle cleanser, and my moisture barrier was still in tact after years of near nightly use. It's honestly a lovely device.

A friend of mine showed up at the end of her rope and looking for a drink and a sympathetic shoulder. She had just been told by the doctor that they had exhausted all options and the perioral dermatitis was just something she would have to deal with going forward. She is not a girly, girl so no makeup, no skincare routine above soap and sunscreen and it did not appear to be a contact trigger. I disagreed and suggested she try one last thing and change her toothpaste to an SLS free version like tom's of Maine (SLS is a known skin irritant and it's only there to make the toothpaste foamy which is not necessary). She did and said it was much better in a day and completely gone by two.

The earrings listed on the website for $275 are made with gold vermeil and are not gold plated like the ones sent in the calendar. There is also another discrepancy in the quality of the socks. The $119 pair on the website are listed as 95% cashmere and 5% elastane. However, the socks in the box are 85% cashmere and 15% elastane. Pretty unfortunate that corners were cut, but not surprising.

That is an exceptional calendar. Each box was awesome. I would only use a half to full dropper full of serum then moisturizer on top. The bath oil, only 1-2 capfuls per bath. 🛀 hope you go on vaca soon to try it out. I used to take bath bombs on vaca too. Great video.

Styling the scarf as a bandana to cover hair is a life saver on oily hair days. Always cute, just fold it in half diagonally and tie the long ends to fit the diameter of your head. I really do like these higher price advent calendar videos. While I don't have the money to splurge on them its nice to see that these higher prices AC can go to anyone of any races, gender, etc and fit the mark. The Foreo you definitely should be using if you have skin issues. I don’t have that one but I do have the PMD clean brush and it is amazing!! It makes my skin feel so much cleaner when I’m done washing. It actually has settings for cleaning and for moisturizing and it works the moisturizer in the skin so well.

You might be able to use the bath oil as a fragrance. A lot of people do that, depending on the ingredients and the scent of course. You could always do a patch test and see what you think. if you do like it, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I love my foreo. I usually just use it in the shower because it’s water proof. But it makes my face feel really clean and if I have any dry skin on my face or lips it helps exfoliate. That being said I did get it somewhere else for a very discounted price, I don’t remember exactly how much but it was probably around the $30 mark

Hey Lauren! Long one, but I've just banished some perioral dermatitis myself recently, and did it by stripping right back on skincare. I'm usually VERY dry with a f'ed skin barrier... and now i think it was because of all the actives 😫 In case it helps anyone, I: 1. Cleanse with a foaming oil. Avene Xeracalm A.D lipid-replenishing cleansing oil (can be used for body, and removes makeup, but I find it very gentle ) 2. A gel moisturiser. I have Round Lab Mugwort Calming Soothing Gel 3. Mix the gel moisturiser in my palm with LITERAL vegetable glycerin from the healthfood shop. Glycerin is my new HG. I was worried about DIYing my skincare, but did some searching and decided its safe enough to try. I've personally only had really good results 4. Optional additional layers of steps 2&3 when my barrier was bad, at the beginning Im a month in, my PD cleared in two weeks, and my skin has never been less angry with me. I did pick up some 15% Azelaic Acid from the pharmacy a couple weeks ago, and its entered into the roster seamlessly. Good luck to anyone battling Perioral Dermatitis ❤❤

I have very dry eyes from lupus and sjogrens and my ophthalmologist said not to sleep with a ceiling fan on because your eyes are not completely closed when you sleep and it will dry your eyes more. I haven’t tried a mask like that, but it could help!

usually it is a cap full of the bath oil for 1 bath, you also can make it extra by adding magnesium flake for total relaxation

Doctor Herman,who works downstairs, in the morgue, absolutely loves Foreo. A dapper,upstanding member of the community and Worshipful Master of the lodge, he always needs to look his best and this is his go to for a quick fix. Surprisingly,he is not keen on Dr Barbara Sturm products -I believe it is due to the Austrian connection!
