$155 Niche Fragrance Advent Calendar... Worth the Money?? Neiman Marcus 12 Days of Fragrance

I drove to Neiman’s last night because of you. They couldn’t find this in the store but they were determined! They asked me to stay until after the lights were off and only 1 register was left open (just for me). They eventually found it and when they checked me out they went to 3-4 other beauty counters and LOADED me up with skin care and fragrance samples! I left with TWO bags! One for the calendar and one for all the samples and free “buy with purchase” promo items (that I didn’t earn) they GAVE to me for staying late because they couldn’t find the advent calendar fast enough! My favorites out of what they gave me were the Memo Paris hairspray and Tom Ford Mascara! I only bought the advent calendar! So thank you for this video because without it I wouldn’t be able to sit here on my bed and pretend I’m rich LOL.

I hate dabbers & I hate rollerballs. I think all travel sizes should be spray. I’d have joined the Skylar scent club the second I learned about it from you if they were sprays. Dabbers are the most annoying though, I’d 1000% spill them at one point.

​@@kate98765Same! It drives me crazy because I'll want a travel spray of a particular perfume, but it will be in a roller ball, and it's just a no go for me. At one point I had a like 5 that were rollerballs or dabbers, so I bought some empty 10ml spray bottles to transfer them to from Amazon, and unfortunately the sprays sucked. They were awful!! Like dribbling and spurting everywhere at the same time. So it ended up being a waste. Would love to find some good spray bottles, but I'd have to get someone's recommendation at this point.

I feel as though this box brings a lot to the dressing table… you’ll know exactly what $300 bottle to buy😎. Barney’s had a beauty bag that included niche perfume samples. I never afraid to smell good.

They should do a female/unisex or male/unisex calendar now that I’m watching it. The mini bottles are SO cute I just wish they could put mini sprays on those things! This & the unboxing of 3 you did are my faves. Loooove your perfume content so much. I’ve started my own collection the last couple years. Super fun thing to collect. I don’t understand why the minis don’t have sprayers. If they can put a spray nozzle on a 1.5 ml sample vial which they give out for free, they can put them on the mini bottles.

What I've been doing with mini perfumes lately is pouring them into little sampler testers, sort of like you get at sephora. Its a little messy sometimes but it honestly let me my collection so much more.

Lore Perfumery, a local fragrance boutique in Naarm/Melbourne Australia is doing a 12 day advent calendar for the third time in a row this year. I had one last year and loved it. They are $90 AUD (under $60 USD), but you only get small sampler sprays plus a gift (last year that was a refillable travel vial), BUT each sampler came with a card that describes the scent and notes and a QR code to a video made by the perfumery team explaining the backgrounds about the perfume house and the specific perfume, talking through the notes, how it wears etc. And on the last day you got a personalised code for some money of a full bottle. Even though you only get samplers, all the other work around it made it just very thoughtful and a longer lasting experience then just a box you open in the morning. I learnt so much and appreciated even scents that weren't my usual cup of tea so much more. This years calendar will go on sale next week and I will get one again.

@@niklaus009 I think last year sold out relatively quickly, I definitely plan to get it right when it releases! Cherry Punk was featured in last years, it was the one I got a full size of! So wouldn't think it will be in this years again. Other brands I remember were Goldfield and Banks, Maison Rebatchi, Juilette has a gun, P. Frapin & Cie, Heretic Parfum... there was another Room 1015 in there too. And you are so right about their vibe. I am local so I have been to their store too and they are the most lovely and helpful bunch of people.

Dabbers don't really phase me, but I only ever had tiny bottles of CK1 starting out as a teen and those didn't have sprayers. However, I do admit it only works for scents you want on your skin and now I'm mostly a clothes sprayer.

I actually like that it's all unisex but with so many scents to choose from I'm not sure why they went with multiple rose fragrances. I'm still tempted though...

I got a kit from amazon with different size spray bottles and a funnel to transfer the dabber perfumes into a spray bottle. that way I get to use the perfume, I usually won't use the dabber.

I have “I don’t know what” and it’s best used as a fragrance enhancer which I believe is it’s original intent. I wear it under perfumes and will have my perfume still going strong the next morning! It smells really good with Kayali perfumes like Vanilla 28 and Burning Cherry Lovefest

I agree spray bottles are always preferred. However if I have to choose I'd go for a dabber over a rollerball. Rollerballs are meant for kids who still play for Barbies. Even most oil companies have gotten away from rollerballs.

I definitely get a “cooling” feeling from some fragrances that have violet or violet leaf like the first two you mentioned! Like you I much prefer spray vials - the dabbers and rollerballs do not give an accurate impression of the fragrance IMO.

The minis are cute, but not a fan of dabbers and I hate having to decant, and the value for me just isn't really there. Oud is also very hit and miss for me, and while I know it is very popular now I wish they would have had more variety even within a more "unisex" space. With all the niche brands NM carries, I am kind of surprised by some of the brands they chose to feature. This was still a fun ride haha. Just found your channel and I am definitely subscribing.

I have some daubers because the packaging is cute and they're an easy way to try designer perfume. I put my wrist against the bottle then tip and rub to dispense. It's not my favorite, but it works well enough. Again, the bottles being cute is a big deciding factor. I definitely see the value in this box. I often look at these kind of gift sets and thing most of the items wouldn't work for me and therefore isn't worth the value. I do know that i love Callis Subtle by Orens and if i were to spend over $150 in one go, I'd rather spend the $225 ish for that one. However, the whole side of my crown that faces my cheek broke off on my bottom molar on Sunday. So, no fun spending for me until that is settled. 😢

I’d been upset to get this. I can’t wear patchouli at all:( it turns to smell like Lawrys Season All or American Chinese Food. It absolutely sucks because all the new perfumes have some amazing notes but then there’s that patchouli.

I can't stand the dabber bottles or the roller balls. I think the roller balls are gross and they ruin the fragrance so fast once there's cross contamination with skin. I also think Exposing the fragrance from the dabber bottle to open air every time also degrades the quality and causes the perfume to evaporate faster.
