I liked the video, but it would have been even better if you had shown the items you spoke about, like you silk bodysuit etc.

Lauren, loving your videos! I was wondering if you could insert pictures of the things you are talking about, i.e. curvy woman in the body con dress and leaner woman in the same dress, or a picture of you in the outfit you were describing, so we can better understand. I'm a visual learner so it helps to see examples. Thank you so much for all that you do!

I love your videos Lauren and I'm excited for this series. Toning down the sexiness in my wardrobe was something I had to work on. But I'm happy I did. This was refreshing.

Hey, Lauren I've recently discovered your channel and subscribed because you give the best fashion advice. My dear mother bought me a lovely pearl necklace for my 30th birthday, and while they're gorgeous I don't know how to style them. It's been about 6 years, and I still haven't worn them. Any advice on how to incorporate pearls into an edgy, and casual style? Thanks in advance, you are the true Messiah of fashion.

I know I'm not as reputable as Lauren, but maybe a t-shirt, leather jacket, and black skinny jeans? Just the right amount of classy and edgy, but still not looking like a costume.

It's true that we make instantaneous, subconscious judgments about people based on their clothing. That's something to keep in mind if you care about how you're perceived by others, but I still think women should be encouraged to wear whatever the hell they want. If others truly think less of them based solely on their clothing, they should be the ones ashamed of themselves, not the women wearing the clothes. People are going to make snap judgments about you based on whatever you wear, and we can't dress to please everybody. I have to wonder, why is it so terrible for a woman to risk being seen as sexually loose anyway? I think a clear distinction needs to be made here: you shouldn't reconsider your skimpy outfits because people see them as "slutty". That's an antiquated, sexist mindset, and we need to move beyond it. No, you might want to reconsider your skimpy outfits because they're simply not as aesthetically pleasing from a style perspective (again, only if you care about that sort of thing). It's much more beautiful, stylish, impactful, and ironically, SEXY to show skin in one main area at a time and keep everything else mostly covered. These trendy bodycon dresses, for instance, with plunging necklines, mesh, lace, and cutouts everywhere are simply trying way too hard and look tacky. It's just every sexy detail thrown into one outfit. There's too much going on and the eye doesn't know where to look. Stylistically speaking, extremely revealing outfits are a nightmare, but we don't need to conflate that issue with sexist views of how women are "supposed" to dress like "ladies".

This video gave me a headache. This mentality is whats wrong , not wearing whatever you feel like . So outdated and sad
@miagosling67797 жыл бұрын
if someone feels good in a revealing sexy outfit then who gives a shit what people think. people shouldn't be taught that if you're desperate or weird. the day i dress for someone else is the day they dress me in my coffin to see Jesus.
@50centricher97 жыл бұрын
Mia Gosling lol you wanna be wrong and strong and expect to see Jesus. And before you ask how you're wrong I'll let you know... People don't wear revealing clothes just to do so... Most of the time, more than not when people do that they have a motive. 9 times out of 10 it comes from a narcissistic standpoint with the agenda for attention, and for other people to basically worship them. And whether they like it or not regardless it's gonna get attention in the wrong ways. All it does is make other people lust after them (and you know it, and incase you didn't know lust isn't good.) OR look at them for what they made themselves out to appear like... That mentality shows a lot about your character too just saying. I'm not trying to attack you, I'm just being honest so hopefully you could see what she's talking about from another point of view.
