Love the vintage touch! Vintage Halloween and Christmas decor are my favorite. So glad I’m not the only one who has not watched harry potter. I grew up not celebrating holidays because we were Jehovah’s Witness. When I moved out of the house, I started celebrating all of the holidays. I get so excited for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and DEFINITELY Christmas! I get so sad when Christmas is over because it goes by so fast!

Don’t get sad, there is a big holiday just about every month of the year. Valentine Day is so fun to decorate for. I’ve left my Christmas tree up (already had white and red lights) and added pink, red and white hearts and cupids. In March I broke out with green for St Patrick’s Day - we are Irish so it’s super fun for us. Then Easter/Spring decorations and patriotic and/or nautical for summer months🥰

Was so happy see you posted. I use to decorate for Halloween but my grand children have moved to another state and where I live there is only one or two trick or treaters . I miss seeing the kids and how excited they are. When I was young you didn’t buy costumes you just made up costumes and that was so fun seeing what kids put together.

Adorable. For years I decorated for Halloween. We had 7 kids who are now all grown. Before we moved I decorated for all my grandkids (24 to date). Now that we are an hour away no one comes over for Halloween. One of my sons does the family Halloween party. My husband and I still dress up for the event.

I was the same way. Then I started planning a little trip for January to the mountains or the woods for my family and I. It's something we look forward to and makes it easier to say goodbye to Christmas. Staying in a cabin with a fireplace and cooking chili with the family is so fun.

It's crazy that you mentioned your Halloween parade at school. I was JUST telling my husband last night that my Halloween parade at school is such a fond, vivid memory for me. Seeing everyone's costumes & all the decorations in the halls. My hometown looked like a Thomas Kinkade painting... I have since moved away so fall/Halloween for me is very nostalgic and special. I also do Falloween. I love your decorating, but since I have enough spiders in real life and I have a little arachnophobia, I just can't do that. LOL. My favorite memory is that in the 60s, us kids just ran wild in groups, all over our small town. We never worried about being kidnapped. Parents coasted along in their cars and almost everyone had their porch lights on. We dressed up in our parents and grandparents clothes like old men and old women, mummies with torn sheets, or bums and witches. I love handing out candy and decorating my house and porch. Now I'm just the nice old lady on the corner or the nice old witch on the corner. 🧛

Love your Fall-O-Ween decor, i love the Boo banner... i have been collecting vintage Halloween items from the 40's... so my living room is Vintage Halloween. My dining room is a spooky pumpkin patch... my kitchen is a witches kitchen... My dad always dressed up to pass out candy and our neighborhood always did a Halloween party the weekend before, bobbing apples, pin the tail on the donkey and other games, treats and candy... hotel transylvania movies are super cute... I'm 52, my daughter who has moved out loved the Halloween town movies, my son is a Great pumpkin kid, my husband loves the nightmare before Christmas, myself I love the classics, universal monster movies from the 1930's...

Oh I mix fall and Halloween every year! I started today as well and the spooky music on KZbin was the first thing to get my mood going. I totally agree on LED's.. it's so hard to find outdoor lights, indoor lights, anything that is not LED. If you search for an interior light there are like 20/20,000 that are incandescent. All of the fake lighting makes me feel sick. ( like the curly lights ) I have to avoid the lamp section in the stores because there are so many going at once. I love the vintage looking decor items. It seems like they've been making a come back. Favorite memories for fall from when I was little. Hanging the decorative things in the windows, going to the farm stand for pumpkins, and colored corn, all the leaves to walk and crunch in, and changing out the screens for the storm windows.

Lauren, I just love your Halloween decor. It’s positively creepy! I remember being at school and we got to dress up in our costumes and have cupcakes and candy. On Halloween night my brother or my best friend and I would trick or treat for blocks all around the neighborhood. Never ever worried about bad people back then.

Suggestion: perhaps if you tie the spiders on different places (specifically the ones on the stool/chair). Maybe one on the bottom on the bottom of the stool.. so it will look more like crawling on the stool. Also want to say without any changes, your decorating style is flawless. Love it!

So funny you called it Falloween. I always decorate for Fall and just add my touches of Halloween. My mom used to have these sweet witch napkin ring holders she used at our table for Halloween, and I still love to use them to this day. I loved trick or treating when I was a kid, i lived in a neighborhood with lots of kids and we had the best time. I started sewing at an early age and made the most wonderful costumes and carried that on for my own children. I love Halloween and love to decorate for it, I go all out! I too have never seen Harry Potter, but the broom ride in Universal Studios is my favorite. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your decorating.

Oh so cute. I started decorating today for Halloween but doing I guess more Falloween for the first time. Have always gone all.out for Halloween but slowing down in my senior years. I loved my fall.mantel too and will use the base for Thanksgiving. Have a collection of witches and ghost so the house is a mix of that. Won't be doing outdoors as not many kids in our area anymore and grandkids won't be coming over. I loved loved the Costume parade at my parochial school. We always had a great time with party and food and then the parade. My grandmother was a seamstress so we had great costumes. I still have one of my favorites she made , a pioneer dress , with matching bonnet and crocheted bag. My daughter even got to wear it one year and hoping my granddaughter will wear it too. Enjoy all your festive decorating. I always went all.out for my kids and now grandkids ( and the kid in my hubby and me😁)!

I decorate for Autumn and keep it up until Thanksgiving, then switch to Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. I don’t really decorate much for Halloween now that my kids are 19, 23, 24 and 32, but I love seeing what others do for Halloween. Love your hair! Also so cute with the little bow! I went to Amazon to order one after the video hihi. I grew up in Sweden and Halloween was completely different there, at least in that time. We just visited the graves and lit candles for everyone we remembered who had left us. I remember it was lights all over the graveyards, we had to always be quiet and it was always very beautiful. My Dad's birthday was Halloween and I was due to be born on Halloween, but I couldn't wait and came out on the 20th. My Mom was a professional seamstress and made most of our costumes ❤️🎃. I loved jumping in the leaves, bobbing for apples, hay rides, making caramel apples, truck or treating with my friends. My youngest granddaughter is an October baby too, we love Fall and everything that goes with it.

I live in Texas so I generally don’t decorate for fall until mid to late September. Beginning of September it is still too hot to consider anything fall-ish. My decor is all vintage Halloween. I love finding new items to add to my collection. This year, I made a garland for my fireplace by adding some orange wire ribbon to a black and white checkered and burlap garland I found at Hobby Lobby. I added some of those vintage wood pieces that I found on Temu. The whole thing turned out adorable and is my favorite decorated area this fall. And I get zero trick or treaters because I live in the country but I still love decorating for Halloween!

I absolutely adore those ornaments! They are very precious and sweet. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday (yes even over Christmas) because my mom loved it so and would go full steam with decorations and she always made chocolate candies for trick or treaters. I laugh now because I used to complain that I always "had" to have homemade costumes. My mom or grandma would make the most wonderful costumes (I always insisted on being scary, even when I was 4) and people would rave about them. When my parents helped at our church Halloween festival, they had a haunted house I went through when I was 5 and fell in love with them. A tradition we kept until my mom passed was going to haunted houses every year. Sorry for the ramble, could go on forever but those are some of the traditions I remember most.

So love the vintage decorations! My Halloween memories as a youth is dressing up and running along the country roads of rural Ohio and going from house to house to get our candy. We would literally have to run in the ditch by the side of the road so we wouldn’t get hit by a car!😂😮🎃

When my kids were little, I used to go all out and decorate for Halloween. They loved it! But now, they are grown and have their own children, and it seems the decorating has carried over to them. Hi. Not too many favorite Halloween memories. But Christmas memories are so many. The best is gumdrop candies that got put onto a plastic holder in the shape of a Christmas Tree. I believe that it is still sold at The Vermont country store catalog. Also a snowman that worked on batteries and a styrofoam snowball was placed on the top of his hat and when it was turned o. The snowball hovered above him (air was used to raise the snowball). I would watch that snowball it seemed like hours. ⛄️ 👻
