Have you ever thought of blinds instead of heavy drapes. I think they drag the room down as they drag on the floor and seem to always be tied up Might make it brighter in the rooms. I’m not a drape person though. I need the light.

Our home is a custom build, French country/ contemporary. We moved in in March and this Christmas I put up 16 Christmas trees with lights only! It looked so stunning, cozy and chic. As you were describing your style I wished I could show you our home. It sounds like exactly what you are aiming for in your home. I LOVE your videos Lauren! I look so forward to them. I pray you and your family are safe with the fires that are taking place in California, it is so heartbreaking! I did want to also let you know that I have had the Tineco and the Shark mop vacuums and I do not care for either of them! I just don’t feel like they clean as deeply as I prefer. For quick clean up jobs they are great but for a deep floor clean my favorite, go back to again and again, is the Bissell spin mop! If you haven’t yet please give it a try I think you will love it! You still have to sweep/vacuum first but as far as feeling like you are getting a good deep clean, it’s the way to go! Look forward to your upcoming videos and seeing what you do in the garden!

Hi Lauren! In your bedroom I think you should change your bed to something wooden or even a darker, warmer shade. Then for your fireplace that is in there, I would paint it a different color. Even if it you leave it white, just a different shade of white that has a warm undertone to it. I think it would help get your French Country style that you like and cozy up the room even more. A rug with some darker colors as well. I love your videos! Thank you for sharing with us!

Christmas/winter decor is still up @ my house. We were inundated with snow this weekend, and it's's still completely covering the ground. Our snow accumulation was somewhere between 7-9 inches (in Stl), Temps have been in the teens with the windchill in the single digits. So, the twinkling lights & greenery help warm up our house & keep it cozy! Plus, I can't trudge through the deep snow to put it all away in our backyard shed..so there's that too. Lol!

All but my porch is packed away. It's been in the teens here in Northeastern PA. I just don't relish standing on my porch and undecorating it in that kind of temp lol. Hi Lauren, so I am taking down Christmas in my bedroom today too. What a perfect day to watch your video. Thank you for all the inspiration on remembering to clean certain things. On the vacuum front, I just bought theTineco mop/vac, when it was on sale through Amazon prime days. I think it’s about a $400 vacuum and I got 150 off. It is fantastic. I feel like my floors are really clean when I’m done. It’s just for hard flooring. Hugs for now.❤

I work for a lady that used to have a commercial greenhouse and she is such a font of information! She is always telling me, now listen to me, I know what I am talking about!!! She swears by a bale for lack of a better word of soil that we get from the amish around here. It is a mixture of perlite, compost and soil. It keeps the soil from getting all clumpy. Her plants are gorgeous, by the way!! I think that your home looks kinda old world! Lots of wood tones and such! It makes me happy to look at it! Hi Lauren, I love hydrangeas and I have planted so many over the years. I am in NC and although they say sun and some shade, they do much better in shade and some sun. Our summers get too hot and the ones in full sun never make it. The only ones that can take full sun are limelight hydrangeas. My blue ones (like yours) and pink ones, love more shade. Keep them moist and dont cut them back unless you absolutely have to, because they rebloom on old wood. If you cut them back, you wont have blooms for a whole year:( Hope that helps!

Love hydrangeas, had them at my old house, which was a 100 yr old home. They were established so they were very hardy. When it became very hot and the sun hit them, they would droop, a little water, poof, beautiful as ever. Plan on incorporated the in this year with landscaping. Be careful with steam mop cleaners. I had one in old house but lost a part. Then I read should not be used on LVP floors. The steam and hot water, can loosen the clue the blanks are sealed down with. Old house was old wood floors, they lasted forever. But glad I read that after building and upgrade Inf to LVP. Who knew.

I planted a small hydrangea bush in the corner of my house. It bloomed the first year but not the second. It took a while last year to get greenery on it. Of course, I'm in Ohio, so the cold winter weather does a number on dormant plants. Fingers crossed for this year. I will be following as always to see your tips 😀

Lauren, please get back to us when you find out about the possible dangers of the flocking on the Christmas trees. I have a beautiful heavily flocked tree I purchased at Hobby Lobby 3 years ago and I love it so much; but I worry about inhaling the chemicals in the flocking and touching it as I decorate the tree. I have heart & lung issues as well as being a cancer survivor, so I try to limit my exposure to as many chemicals and dyes as possible. I am a subscriber so I will be waiting to hear your update on this question. Love sweet little PePe so much! He’s a true star!

I always get Christmas down a couple days after Christmas. I do leave up the greenery with white lights. Also snowmen and snowflakes. It looks cozy. I have a lot of “Let it snow” signs and boy is it here in WV. It’s been snowing on and off since Sunday. We have about 6 inches. And it’s so cold. I also have a hydrangea bush but haven’t had much luck with mine. I bought a blue one like yours and now it’s turned white. It has to do with the acidity of the soil. Hope yours stay blue. 😊❤

I live in Texas and have both Endless Summer and Oakleaf hydrangeas. Both are very easy to grow. They just require a lot of water and need to be planted in the semi shade

I love hydrangeas, I’m based in GA so we have ours planted for morning sun and then water after sun sets so the bush can get all the water it needs. Once it starts getting cold we cut back and then it starts over again in the spring. They are so fun to decorate with.

I love hydrangeas. I live in New England so the bushes are everywhere. My parents have a few bushes but the did not do well last summer. We got a lot of rain last summer so it definitely hindered the growth. But I absolutely love them! In the summer I decorate my house with faux blue hydrangeas for a beachy feel.

Hello!! Happy New Year!! As you asked for some ideas for a bedroom re-do/ refresh? I have a thought. What do you think about a large Antique scroll work iron headboard? Either black or spray painted white/ cream? Sometimes even a large Victorian gate would work too. The kind that you would find in Garden entrances, on large properties/ mansions. Hard to find, but I know NYC and east coast ironworks stores may have them? As an Artist, I'm always trying to combine elegance with Artifacts with an updated esthetic. Whatever you do will be beautiful. 🌺

I LOVE hydrangeas and I'm hoping mine makes it over the winter months. I have been having such a difficult time of getting it to grow. If anyone has tips, I would love to hear them too. I have heard they love the morning sun, when it's not so hot, and then a shadier afternoon. I live in Michigan. I have pink and white hydrangeas. Our decor was all down on the 28th, and Easter is my favorite holiday too, but I love decorating for all the seasons.

Oh Lauren.....Can I make a QUICK and easy SUGGESTION that you REOPEN your BEDROOM CHRISTMAS TREE BOX and CURL the long TARTAN RIBBON around your HAND like if it was a SPINDLE. Thus, NEXT YR it will NOT be wrinkled, needing to be ironed. You will find it next November, good as NEW! I am sure you had lots on your mind. I've done the same before, thinking I had losely stuffed the ribbon into a tub. However, it was in bad condition. Happy New Year!

I keep Christmas until the first week in February. We have a cold and snowy winter, so the decorations make it feel cozy. I remember the tree in the entry at the Victorian. I liked it so much that I ordered the ornaments from Balsam Hill. I have a small tree in my living room with red ribbons and those ornaments and white lights. I have two Annabelle white hydrangeas in my front garden. They don't require much care. Last year, however, the dear ate some of the new green flowers. It survived , but I have to remember to spray with Deeroff.

The only tip I learned and can share is the pruning of hydrangeas in the fall through winter. I learned to never prune them low (lower than 36"). Unfortunately they are quite ugly with the bare dead stems sticking up but it's necessary to get good blooms the next spring/summer.

I purchased the Tineco Floor One S5 back in October (which is one sale right now for $150 off just an FYI). I love it, now just an bit of info the tank is not large however after you use it a time or two and it gets your floor really clean you don't use near the water. I am clean freak and yes after I started using it you could actually see the difference in the floor of where I used it already and where I had not. Your floor feels so much cleaner I love mine..... Watched this latest video last night and it was toughly enjoyable Lauren and motivational and inspirational. You got a lot of cleaning achieved and I must say your place looks really nice and tidy. I actually like your bedroom who it is Lauren, your right I think if you moved the bed over to that wall were big mirror is it would not fit, if you feel like moving things around Lauren do it. I would recommend blinds on your windows, was a good investment I thought for me putting them all throughout my apartment and went for thermal blinds, it was definitely worth it. Have you considered a Shark hoover Lauren, they are very good all round, it won't let you down these hoovers, I had Dysons before but wanted something new and different. All the best Lauren. I took Christmas down before New Years. My daughter wouldn’t leave it alone and we had just moved in a week before, so I had a lot of unpacking to do. I do have some Valentines Day up. I will put more up in February or maybe later this month.i have 1 more room to unpack, then I will have my house in order. Will help my nerves. It is snowing here and while I love, I am waiting for late Spring early Summer. Which is odd because I love Fall and Winter. May just be this winter that has me wanting it to be over already. HI Lauren, It’s still very winter where I am, Im keeping things cozy but christmas is all put away. Im thinking ahead to Easter. On another note, I was gifted a Tineco S5 Wet Dry vac for hard floors, It has changed my life, i love it , I have a new puppy that loves to run outside and comes in with muddy paws when the snow is soft and was going crazy getting my mop out. You make me want to clean, clean, clean - which I don't do but love watching you. Also love your recipes. Just wanted to let you know that during the whole cleaning process I love the way you talk about your animals and the fur/hair thing. I have two dogs, one cat and always feel that when other you tube creators are cleaning their homes I can't relate, mine is so full of hair/fur I don't feel any relationship at all, but when you are doing it, it's realistic and takes into account what it's like to live with animals in your family. The flocked trees make our throats hurt too! We had to return one we tried last year because it was making us sneeze and have headaches as well. As soon as it was gone it was a relief. I would absolutely no longer use them.

Mine were a gorgeous deep blue for the first year and slowly faded to pink with each year. The bushes are large and healthy and the pink is nice but yes, I agree, love that blue!

I bought a fireplace insert and built the fireplace around it. It is attached to the wall. If your goal is to give your bedroom a fresh look then I suggest a focal wall and maybe some new curtains with tie backs.

Hi Lauren! I have been growing hydrangea bushes and trees for the last 30 years here at my home in CT. I love them! Some tips---the big mopheads like Endless Summer do require a lot of water. They do better in morning sun, vs hot afternoon sun, will also bloom in partial shade. Good luck and I am looking forward to seeing them in your garden! ❤

I love the look of your bathroom and the entry way to you bathroom with the art and the table with your perfumes etc. But I was wondering what do you do to keep your privacy when you're showering yourself as I didn't notice a physical door to your bathroom and you now have teenagers so I was wondering if you just shower when they're asleep or do you just tell them not to go down into your "wing while showering or is there a pocket door that I missed ? I'm asking because I love the idea of sort of having the ensuite bathroom not directly attached to the master bedroom like you have but I would also want my privacy and not sure where to put the door. So thought I would ask. I'm in the process of designing my forever home and you inspired me.
