I think it's great that you're not going back to work. You do so many other things that you love and now you'll have more time. I just ordered and received the hardware, which ironically, looks like yours, except mine is black. My husband sprayed our paint on, and what a change it makes. I’m so happy with it. Not a smart idea to do it prior to Christmas, but oh well. By Wednesday it will be completely finished, our new fridge comes on that day. Ok. Now I’m finished! Have a good week!

Hi Lauren, I make foccacia all the time and I can tell you the dough should be alot wetter also for the potato and leek soup, I make a rough style base with butter and flour and cream. This comes out very creamy. I love to cook and all things home decor and gardening. I am retiring very soon and will have more time to do all the things I love

I got laid off this year. I took a break from applying for new jobs and recently started the hunt again. I didn't get the job, but I passed a couple rounds of interviews at a place that I had never dreamed would be interested in me. That gave me the confidence to get out there and try something new. I am happy for your "retirement" and think 2025 will be amazing and a fabulous new era.

I’ve been doing artisan bread recipes on Pinterest. Simple and easy to mix together in a bowl and then let rise for 3-18 hrs based on recipe. I time it for when I need it the next day. Some are only a3-4 hr rise.

Hi you should have microwaved 2 more potatoes and added it into the soup to take it more thicker.....there is always a way to make a soup thicker and the pancetta will ould have been better baked in the oven for a few minutes not boiled....

I just cant get that Christmas tree smell anywhere, where has it gone? Cut down a tree it last maybe 2 days. You cant get any fresher than that. I remember going into the attic in the summer as a kid and could still smell the bits of Christmas tree that were attached to the big light's.

@@valerienelson3296 I’m not sure where you live, but Fraser Fir trees have a delightful aroma…like citrus . They only grow on hillsides, and are soft and lovely. My dad raised evergreen trees to sell. I miss it. When Dad died, I couldn’t do a real tree anymore. It just made me sad. So we have an artificial. I used Candles, fresh balsam from Bath and Body, and my home smells like a fresh cut tree.

@cindik7268 I live in Alaska we have a tree farm that has Frasier fir that was freshly cut by us. We got a few days of smell. I am pretty tidy and use candles, wax melts I even have a hotel scent machine with fir in it but nothing seems to capture at least for long those old childhood smells. Granted I am in my 50's so maybe it's just me. 😉 I am kinda particular, we have a walmart in our little town and I can't find 1 Christmas melt or candle I like or a regular candle. The wax melts smell good a few hours and then they take a turn and I smell patchoili. I ordered Frasier fir oil last year and made wax melts and put it in my scent machine. Smelled pretty good, this year when I got the melts and oil out it had went bad and smelled like an old church. The blue spruce trees have their own smell but they are absolutely my favorite for looks.

@ valerienelson3296I know what you mean. I get used to smells very quickly. When friends come in they say, oh that smells so good…and I think to myself, I can’t smell a thing. How wonderful that you live on a tree farm! Such a coincidence! My dad has been gone for 21 years, and Christmas time is hard. My mom died in 2014, so she, too is gone. I will be 70 in June, and can’t imagine where time went. Smells, songs, movies, food all trigger memories for me. I just saw the hotel scent machine on QVC, and wondered if it worked. I’d love to make my own candles. Maybe someday. But truthfully, I’d better hurry. I am getting a tad bit up there in years. Have a lovely Christmas, and I hope if you close your eyes and try really hard a scent memory may return for a brief second. 🎄🎄❄️
