You can get optical Thunderbolt cables that are 5, 10, 20, 30 meters. This have a small converter in the conector that convert electrical to optical and back to electrical. Works well and galvanic isolate the computer from the apollos.

Apollo was the solution for my set up. I needed 32i/o and didn’t have an opportunity to test different converters for sound, latency and sync. I decided to go with 2) x16’s over other options and haven’t looked back. Love your channel, never can get enough gear talk!

What will you get? The second apollo 16 ins aren’t connected yet. I have an old studiomaster with 16 direct outs coming today to keep some other instruments connected.

@ at 1st I thought a 4000. Then a duality. But now I’m thinking something digital. I just need 96k. I have enough gear to add all the colors of Pantone into a mix/recording. So the search is still on.

maybe you couldve went Antelope Galaxy or Symphony with the I/0 you want...and the Universal Audio cards or satelite to still use the UA plug-ins ..???
