They don’t do this in their later videos. - they did not try to investigate once they saw the monster, they just booked it to the car. - they showed the footage to the police, which they stop doing later on. In conclusion, I think that these stories are all connected, and the monster is slowly becoming part of them through exposure to them, and influencing their actions to make them more inclined to come to it and more reluctant to try to stop it or escape quickly. They are supposedly in just as much danger in this video than the first one, so why are they waiting around talking in the woods for so long instead of leaving? There is also that ‘woods/house’ video moment, where Parker mentions the woods videos like they’ve made them before and Chester seems confused, like Parker remembers something Chester and the audience don’t. This also fits with how Parker always seems to be the one refusing to leave the houses with the monster, even after it becomes clear that they are in real danger. Maybe he has been controlled more by the monster than Chester.
