I see from the date of this performance that it was only 4 months before Laurie lost her husband Lou Reed.... I hope and pray that Laurie is in fine health herself now and is finding new light in the world... You are not a national treasure Laurie but a treasure to the entire world.

Another save of my artistic soul. When I feel too wiped out to think/create/go on...on goes Laurie. For me, it's been more than 30 years and this always works. On goes Laurie and I'm flowing out again--Supernova Thanks, Laurie! Yeah.

+ajhoncantara FROM ...not for... I'm just trying to help you with your English as I realise it's not your first language... Using FOR in the sentence you typed just buggers up the meaning of what you are implying... Good luck.... And also, this is a fantastic concert - thankyou for the upload.

Ha! I suppose I was so mesmerized by the performance I didn't notice the typo while writing my comment. English is my first language, so there's nothing wrong there; it's my vision that is flawed.

+ajhoncantara Great to hear back from you... You have excellent taste in music if this brilliant lady is any indication... Do you have her album THE UGLY ONE WITH THE JEWELS ???....I love that album but quite honestly all her albums are extraordinary - I introduced a very dear old friend ( who has since passed away ) to STRANGE ANGELS years ago and I couldn't stop the bugger from continuously playing it...ha ha. I just wish she'd come to Australia.

+EnosEverything I've been following her since Big Science was released and have all but Life on a String. The Ugly One With The Jewels is fantastic. I've been fortunate to have seen her four times. The last performance I attended was "Delusion" while I was working in Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics. It was a cathartic experience and by the end I was so overwhelmed I wept. Laurie is my philosophical guru and I'm long, long, long overdue for another concert. I've also been faithfully following Eno since his Roxy Music days. He is someone I would beg, borrow and steal to see in performance. It would appear we share a similar taste in music and it's a pleasure communicating with you. Cheers!

From her website: "Greetings to the Motherland” On June 16, 2013 at the Luminato Festival Ai Weiwei will skype in from Beijing and join Laurie for a dual rant about China and the United States. Joining them onstage for this historic exchange will be renowned musicians Greg Saunier (drums) , Eyvind Kang (viola, keyboards), and Doug Wieselman (saxophone). Says Laurie: “Writing songs with Ai Weiwei has been a blast. Since both of us share a fascination with our giant countries and the way they use power, images, public relations, lies, money, war and words we decided to do a kind of duet/rant about China and the United States. It’s been really exciting to write in this context of the double superpowers. Ai Weiwei will also be describing his time in detention- a really hair raising personal story.”

I’m not sure but many her instruments are of her own design in the early years..... she started out with a violin with a tape head built into it Bo was a piece of tape that she played forward and backward and she knew exactly where to hit the tape head to make a word or sentence sound and to slow it down and speed it up in other words she was blowing words

Laurie is great and creative, Ai Wei Wei complains about Chinese system but he lives in China, he is very rich, he could live overseas where he believes there is freedom. His artworks sell for million of dollars, but he is using the Chinese political system to make money. He knows that if he would live overseas he won't be able to be so popular. And also he is using young Chinese to make his work paying them peanuts. Ai likes to be a star, you are very smart........
