This song saved my life one night. I had a bottle of pills by my bedside and I was going out of my mind. I lost my mother 7 months ago when I was 17, and I have always struggled with mental illness. I was home alone and in so much pain, and nobody knew what I was about to do. But my sister sent me this song at random that day, and I decided to listen to it. I have never related to a song more. After that song, I threw the pills away and I texted a suicide hotline. I got my meds fixed, and I am still fighting like hell to escape the black hole of depression. But this song made me realize that life is worth living.

Can’t believe this was 2 years ago. I’m so glad to be a part of this concert. It had two takes and if I remember correctly he actually requested fans to open our phone flashlights to achieve this effect. So I was really into the moment (as I wasn’t focused on recording but on watching) and it was so magical hearing it for the first time. ❤️ This was my very first arena concert ever! No regrets!

Lauv, I know you'll never read this but I could never thank you enough for this song, especially on days like today when I really needed to hear it. I don't have depression or anxiety. I'm not suicidal. And I like to think that I'm usually a pretty happy person. But two years ago today, my favorite singer, and the man that I've looked up to since I was young, killed himself. I'm not going to say his name because I don't want to steal attention away from Lauv, but if you know him, you'll know who it is. For the past two years, I've felt really numb to at random times when I know I should be happy. I've relied heavily on other singers that I look up to in an attempt to fill the hole in my heart, but it's still there. So *thank you* Lauv. Thank you for writing such a touching, motivating, sweet, and personal song that I can actually relate to. I don't want to be sad about this singer anymore. I want to be happy that he was alive, and I want to be able to enjoy his music without breaking into tears. I know that I'll never be able to get over him entirely, but this song helped remind me that I can't stay sad forever. It's been two years, and even though I will *never* forget him, I need to move on. So yes, Lauv will probably never read this. But I still want to say thank you. Because I don't want to be sad anymore. And Lauv has helped me realize that I don't need to be sad forever. I can be happy, it'll just take some time. Thank you Lauv. 💜 Thank you for everything.
