If many pro basketball players decided to play football they would not be in the NFL, they would dominate the NFL. Lebron James would be the greatest receiver ever. So would a number of guys in the NBA, its already been proven. Guys like antonio Gates, college basketball player wasnt good enough to play in NBA, Tony Gonzales college basketball player wasnt good enough to play even close to the NBA, and a bunch of others who became big Time NFL players who played college ball but couldnt sniff the NBA. NBA players have everything football players do, except they are a foot taller than many NFL players.

@@gsp3428 Gonzales was a football player who played basketball. Every defensive player besides the big run stuffers could play in an NBA rotation as a 3 and D player. When you look at athletic testing football players are superior to basketball players. LeBron is good in the NBA because he plays a small man's game and gets to use his size and strength. He would not have a size and strength advantage in the NFL. Besides the NFL tests for PED's. LeBron would be suspended. You have to have football instincts to play football. They don't have them.

@@user-hk9wl1jx5k There are no players in the nfl that could even come close to sniffing an NBA team, and lebron would be the most unstoppable receiver in NFL history most likely. 6'8 270 pounds, runs faster than pretty much everyone in his prime. Cornerbacks are generally around 6 feet tall on average, no one can stop lebron or many NBA players if they decided to play footall, the height difference is too big combined with elite athleticism also.

LeBron James who was timed at 4.60 in the 40 yard dash at age 28 would be a fantastic TE. Ja Morant with his leaping ability and speed would be a great WR or CB. There are many NBA players that could athletically play in the NFL. It would take some time to get accustomed to the physicality and at least some NBA players would be able to get accustomed to the physicality and some would quit. It would be easier for NBA players to get accustomed to the physicality of the NFL than it would be for NFL players to develop their skills for the NBA.

I think 30 is too big of a number, but to transition from the NBA to NFL is easier than the other way around. Antonio Gates, Julius Peppers, Jimmy Graham all played at pro-bowl levels and were former basketball players. I've never heard of any such former football players making that transition to the NBA. What hurts is that NFL players are very short compared to NBA players. Like Myles Garret is 6'4" but there are point guards, the smallest position on the court, that are taller than him. Handling a basketball is much more difficult that catching a football with sticky gloves on.

NFL is the only sport where guys can walk on with zero experience, one comes to mind is willie parker, steelers running back. He was a truck driver and tried out and became a pro bowl RB, victor cruz is another walk on. Football also has guys come from other sports, baseball? Russell wilson and pat mahommes, theres also been guys come over from rugby. And i agree you could only transition in certain positions, wr, te, special teams, easy stuff like that. Football is also a sport where u can easily change positions, ahmad bradsaw was a qb in college, drafted as a corner, became a all pro RB. You really cant do that in the nba, if your a 7fter your a center and thats it. If your 6ft your a point guard, your not playing center. He was not guaranteed to succeed as QB. Thats why no one drafted him in the 1st round. Secondly, and most importantly, getting hit in the NFL is more than a notion. I heard a former NFL player say that EVERY year, they have to re-adjust to getting hit in the NFL. That's one of the main reasons for training camp. Finally, the height, weight, speed, and leverage needed to play football is much different than basketball. Austin Rivers was an average-at best NBA player. He's extremely biased because he's only looking at the skill & athleticism. If football was strictly about skill & athleticism, TB12 wouldn't have made any team to have the chance chance to become MJ of the NFL. Brady has taken hits that would've retired the modern nba player, and Brady got up, talked his talk, and ran the next play; many times taking another vicious hit as he threw the ball. It's one thing to get knocked to the ground by contact, but it's something otherworldly to have 2+ guys driving you into the ground/turf. NBA players aren't rocked up enough to absorb those types of falls repetitively 60 times every Sunday. They won't finish week 1, if they get 5 of those over 4qtrs. I watched Shaq be acutely aware of the damage he'd cause by allowing players & fans to absorb his 300lbs + momentum. Imagine Austin on 3rd & 6 running a crossing route across an NFL LB's face? The Box Safety & LB are putting 490lbs of bad intentions on him the moment he touches the ball...and he might get moved toward a 330lb DT who just turned. NBA players don't want that kinda "physical". They're not conditioned for that level of violent punishment, snap after snap.

Ppl act like Charles Oakley was this great player, all he did was foul more than the average guy, u don't think if Zion Williamson was allowed to foul ppl he wouldn't break ppls necks in the 80s, seriously if they let lebron foul ppl like bill lambeer nobody in the 80s would survive him

I agree and disagree. Yes, Zion has the size to bully people. No, Zion is always hurt. If he was playing in the NFL or the NBA in the 80s or 90s, he would always be hurt.

It ain’t easy making an NFL roster. Ask The Rock, Bill Goldberg, John Cena and Steve Austin to name a few. How disrespectful to assume any cats in the NBA will be able to play in the NFL. There’s a reason y they’re in the nba.
