Hi This machine was not created by Lavazza Its was made by a man named Michele Motterlini (not sure about spelling) the cartridges were first called FAPS when it first came out it also had FAPS with hot chocolate and soup, before the steam addition it made cappuccino with a powdered milk FAP.

My Lavazza Espresso Point is still going strong at 2600 clicks. We have an area in our basement that residents can donate unwanted items to other residents and my machine was left down there. I snatched it up and with a little TLC (metal polish) this machine looks new again.

i really don't like one use cartridge brewers. so much waste. it'd be one thing if you could grind your own coffee and refill the cartridge, but i'm really concerned about the amount of plastic that we are adding to the world just for barely a single cup of coffee.
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
There are refillable capsules available for for some systems. We know what you mean about the waste. There is definitely a trade-off for convenience which creates more waste.

I was cleaning the machine and the brush got stuck in the machine..meaning i was holding the handle in my hand and the brush was stuck inside the pod area. lucky i got crafty and was able to pull it out but i was scared for a second about it not being able to come out.

Hello. I have the exact machine in the office. There seems to be a problem with the machine. when we press the button to have a full cup, only half a cup if filled up. some of the water is poured out onto the table. could the problem be from no descaling the machine?
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
A definite possibility but there are other things that may be causing a problem. Do you think has been neglected?
@Tokixkitti8 жыл бұрын
It gets used multiple times throughout the day. we do have about 30 employees in the office and at least 75% of us use it daily. I do admit that our poor Lavazza gets neglected from cleaning but I do try to look after it as much as possible. I went to descale and clean the machine about 30 minutes ago and it seems better but it still leaks. Also i do see rust on the inside of the machine. is there any way to have a technician come by to look at it? or is there a customer service number I can call to get in contact with about servicing or with technical support? or is the machine a goner?
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
Hi Amy, With that much use and some neglect it may be time to think about replacing. Sounds like the machine is more than a few years old. It might be at the point where servicing the machine would cost more than it's worth. Hard to say via text where your leak might be coming from. If in the U.S. you could call our tech support dept at 888-411-5282. They should be able to help you out in determining if it's repairable or if replacing might be a better option.

thank you for your suggestion and the customer service number. my next question is, if it's okay to be keeping the machine on all day and throughout the weekend. could it possibly be a overheating problem? The espresso machine is very hot to the touch. thanks. and what is the best size machine to get for a company that uses the machine at least 30 times a day? thanks.
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
When the machine is not used for long periods it is best to shut it off. When on and heating it's creating scale. The best size machine to get depends a lot on what type of drinks you are making and your budget. Are you locked into using a capsule based machine? If not you might consider a bean to cup machine. In the long term whole beans are about 1/3 the cost per cup as capsules. If you do a lot of milk based drinks like latte, flat white or cappuccino there are machines that make them at the touch of a button and have more than enough capacity to serve your needs. One of my favorite one-touch bean to cup setups for office settings of your size that like milk based drinks is the Jura XJ9 Professional: www.wholelattelove.com/products/jura-impressa-xj9-professional Paired with the Jura Cool Control refrigerated milk supply: www.wholelattelove.com/products/jura-capresso-cool-control-34oz-milk-container

I have the exact same machine. It was bought used through ebay. The steam wand used to work but now the machine just makes the normal noise when steaming however nothing comes out. Any ideas??
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
+pattygq A couple of things.... has the machine had proper maintenance? Regular descaling is required to keep the machine operating properly. Bought used, there's a chance previous owner did not descale. It may have been okay for awhile but as more scale built up it may have clogged internal passages and/or valves resulting in poor performance. Also, very important to purge the steam wand after frothing. When steam is shut-off after frothing a little bit of milk enters the steam wand as it rapidly cools. If not purged it can accumulate in the wand and cause a blockage.
@pattygq8 жыл бұрын
+Whole Latte Love Yes that is what I expect to have happened, a blockage. Under your professional opinion do you think the blockage can be cleared by by descaling the unit? Thank you.
@Wholelattelovepage8 жыл бұрын
pattygq Maybe. It's certainly worth a try. If it is a scale blockage one problem is the descaling solution may not be able to get at the blocked area all that well.
@pattygq8 жыл бұрын
+Whole Latte Love Ok I'll give it a try. Thank you for your quick reply and informative video. Not too much info on these units on KZbin.
