I have gotten such beautiful wedding dresses at thrift stores…both new and vintage…then I end up moving them from platform to platform and or my local booth and finally donate them. It is a shame! And also prom dresses… You hear how certain girls need affordable dresses for Prom but I think you actually have to pay them to take them off your hands. I’m thinking a thrifty KZbinr should do a Say Yes to the Bins Dress show!

Hi Karen, here’s an idea that worked well for me and may for you: On the weekend while the contractors are not working in the primary bath, get in there and paint at least the wall areas behind where the tub and toilet will ultimately be set. If the paint gets scuffed by chance when those fixtures are set, you can always do a quick touch up. Much easier to do than when they are in place and you are trying to reach behind them. You can do the rest of the room at a later time. Glad to see all the positive things happening for you and Roger!😊

You had it right the first time. 😊 Cloche pronounced with a long O. Like close with an SH at the end. Bathroom looks great! My husband remodeled ours about 3 years ago. Combined a closet and small hallway with existing small bathroom. Now we have a separate shower and tub. White subway tile and octagon marble tile on the floor. Love it!

I went thrifting today to a place I used to get treasures from. I was SHOCKED at the prices!!! Most shoes were $30. I found a coat I wanted for myself but it was $80 😮 I looked at another coat that was $60. I did t bother looking at anything else. I paid for the one little piece of studio pottery for $6 and got the heck out of there.

Thankyou for sharing. You may be tired painting but you are looking very good and happy. Nothing like burly builders asking where is your lighting for the shower room. Concentrates the brain. They had just ripped out the old and put a new suite in. We ran out n grabbed lights. Phew.! Two days later builder asked where is your toilet roll holder. We were dumb. I told him no we haven't got one. We had gave up by then. 😂 Funny crazy times. Best wishes ❤

Thank you, Karen! It is always a delight to ‘shop with you’! You pull me back onto the shopping rails when I veer off into the “oh, that’s gotta sell, ‘cause I like it” headspace! This really is an ongoing learning and discipline experience, and even then it is shifting all the time re: market. Loved your estimate of needing a ‘half cart today’! The amount of hard goods your stores have are amazing , I'm in Central Indiana and our GW have 1 isle of glass, 1 isle of wood 1 isle of dishes, glasses ,Bowls ect, then 1 isle of just misc , I love how yours is separated by color

I hope you get a comfortable tub 🛀 you can get in and out of if you get an injured or older. Many of my clients been getting these tubs 🛁 that are expensive yet not practical, and can’t set a bar of soap 🧼 nor a candle 🕯️ and no way they use at 75! ;(

Fun to see the progress on your house addition. That is a lot of painting but very satisfying. Love a fresh coat of paint. I just got rid of my jetted tub. The jets need to be cleaned every couple of weeks because if you used the jets or not, gunky bacteria builds up in them and spews into your bath water if they haven't been cleaned very regularly, but thing I really didn't like was the noise of it running. I didn't think about that when I bought it. Being able to light up the water to find your rubber ducky is fun. The warm water swirling was nice but not relaxing at all with the noise of the jets. So out it came replaced by a large curvy soaker tup that I could stretch full length out in. Ahhhhh Perfect. I used the same colour grout. A nice soft look.

Golf Club Market: since Nike stopped making Golf Clubs in 2016, the secondary market (like Facebook & eBay) is one of the few ways replacement Nike clubs or full sets can be found by fans of the brand. Another very good brand to add to your short sourcing list is: Scotty Cameron, since the putters bring great money and even a used cover can sell for enough to buy you lunch. I used to sell a lot of vintage putters, but the increased USPS over length surcharge makes me watch the value of selling separate individual sticks much closer. It’s now cheaper to send them FedEx (saves a few bucks per package), but the club’s value has to justify the extra cost or trip to FedEx.

I don’t know if I have ever been this early, but I am here for it!! The addition is looking amazing! You have worked so hard! I really admire that quality in you, Karen. I have tackled a lot of home projects by myself over the years & it is so satisfying. I remember I bought my first home by myself while being a single mom to 3 little boys, at that time ages 10, 9 & 8. The previous owner had painted every wall in each room, a different bright primary color- red, yellow, blue, orange, you name it, so the first thing I did was paint all of the walls, a creamy white, and it took me what seemed like forever, but when I was done I was so proud of myself. 😊 I can’t wait to see your video titled “ I got married” !! ❤❤

My former husband & father of my boys paid child support every month, so I cannot take all of the credit. I wouldn’t have been able to buy a house without the extra support coming in. He also had them every other weekend so I had lots of time to get projects done on those weekends. xo

Yes, Lladro is Made in Spain, hence the double LL spelling, pronounced like a Y. First saw it in abundance when I lived and traveled in Europe the 1980s/90s. Had a friend who collected it, especially the very large, expensive pieces. Like many items in this category, it’s value is on the decline because the Collectors are “aging out” and their children and grandchildren have little interest in the pieces collected by earlier generations. Same thing is happening with Fine China, Hummels and many other items found in your grandmother’s China Hutch.

Damaged Price Stickers: our ovations seem to be hit and miss, regarding cashier pricing items with no sticker. So if the items are small, I bring them up with my other purchases. If the cashier won’t, they usually have a bin under the counter to put the stray in, so it can find it’s way to the back room sooner and it might get a new price before I leave the store. Sometimes if a floor manager is “hovering” near the registers, the cashier will hold up the offending stray and get a price on the spot.

Another situation occurs when there are several “similar” or multiple New Old Stock items and they don’t all have prices. The cashiers will sometimes just take the scan off the priced item and then hit it again, with the barcode reader, to account for the stray without its own price label. Happens more for me on hard goods then clothes, since they will sometimes get multiples in of hardware packs or parts, still in the retail packages, so it’s easy to show the cashier that they are the same or at least similar (like the wood box).

Because it’s difficult living with an unfinished house and besides that, they are getting married so they want it all done so they can settle in and start their life together. I would do the same…I wouldn’t want things left undone..and it’s not really any pressure to them..they are enjoying the process together.
