That end cap "figurine planter vase thing" in Shillington looks from here like it's an antique English Staffordshire pottery pocket watch holder. They are typically unmarked. There's a similar one on Chairish now asking $225.

Hi Karen. We have Kirkland’s in Arizona. The green glass lot that you sold was vintage L.E. Smith glass in the Moon and Stars pattern and is very desirable. L.E. Smith Glass Co. is from Mt Pleasant PA. The green glass candy dishes in your cart look like vintage Indiana Glass.

You are absolutely correct that is American cut glass brilliant you should have bought every piece of it you can tell by the the Sharp cuts on it and the weight and when you hold it up it glistens so much more than just regular Crystal it's just beautiful!!!!

I think those cut glass piece have a gray-purple color because glass made during a certain period had some chemical (can't remember) that when in the daylight a long time, they get a light purple-ish color. You'd have to look it up to find out exactly what the chemical is and the time period, but I'm pretty sure that is what happened to those pieces.

American brilliant cut glass trove could have been from a single estate cleanout donation. Maybe the same household as donated the 19th century Staffordshire watch holder you passed earlier. That a particular thrift suddenly has several pieces of a particular thing does not mean that thing has little value. People donate items of value every day for a variety of reasons. Currently ABCG value is on the way back up.

Your Goodwill has such amazing prices! I was at my local Goodwill yesterday & they had a ceramic hobbyist Raggedy Ann, with a big chip, priced at $29.99! I took a picture because I couldn't believe what I was seeing! There was nothing special or even old, about this Raggedy Ann to warrant that price! They have lost their minds in my area regarding pricing. Edit- that cut glass was GORGEOUS! I actually collect clear glass, I find it absolutely beautiful.

Omg the figurine with the two women that is reminiscent of antique staffordshire would have gone into my cart and my home! I love that French country style! I love that piece so much, I paused the video and looked at it multiple times! I don't think Staffordshire holds the value as it once did, so you probably made the right decision. What is amazing about your videos is I sometimes see things I want for my house and am amazed that you found them at Goodwill. Thank you for your channel. I love it

That figurine is very likely an authentic 19th century Staffordshire pocketwatch holder. The form is not one easily recognized by today's consumers who don't need to display a watch to have a small table clock. So a modern mfct would not likely pick a pocketwatch holder to reproduce b because the form holds little mass market recognition or demand. (Not many people carry pocket watches these days 🙂.) The form also presents molding difficulties for a manufacturer, who is looking for items that have smooth lines (like the pairs of reproduction Staffordshire spaniels) for ease of mfct and desire for little breakage. Prices are not cheap for figures like this one in good condition, though it's difficult to judge condition from the video.

@Pat(ricia) Thank you for all that information. I saw it and about died because I love and collect Staffordshire. It looked real to me. It's not easy to replicate the detail and style. I really appreciate you taking the time to teach me more about it. Also, it's pretty exciting that you also think it was Staffordshire! I have never been lucky enough to find a piece like that at Goodwill. I am not a reseller. It's a good thing because I'd have bought that and never would have sold it. I love it that much!

The higher the content of lead on crystal glass the smokier it will appear, it will sparkle more. The more lead content the heavier the piece . The denseness in the glass also allows for more elaborate patterns to be cut into the piece. Hope this information helps.

Hi Karen, the grey pitcher that felt like sandpaper was probably just unglazed on the outside, leaving the underglaze exposed, which is referred to as bisque, which is the first firing of a piece of ceramic in a kiln. The second firing (in this particular style) is usually for the clear glaze that goes over the top of the colored underglaze, bringing out the true colors. In the case of the pitcher, maybe it was an experiment that didn't quite work out.

The extension handle was actually for cleaning your car windshield. There are elastic edged microfiber cloths that fit on it. I think the sawtooth glass pieces were a grandmothers collection that the family couldn’t wait to get rid of. I think that a lot of times you can tell when someone has passed away and things donated by an overall theme or aesthetic of the things you find throughout the Goodwill store.
