We are thrifting at: Lucky Dog Thrift store in New Holland Pa, Come along!
The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions & flea markets ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, which fully supports me!

You are right. Thrift shopping is the best job ! My mother taught me how to thrift in the 60’s. And if you thrift throughout your life you can definitely retire earlier. And be in a better place financially. I tell my husband that on my tomb stone I want it to say “ she never paid retail “. Lol. I taught my husband to thrift and he got to retire before age 50 from a very stressful job as a electrician Journeyman foreman. Now he’s building a garage to have a dedicated space for resale. We go tomorrow to pick out the garage door. Thank goodness! I can reclaim our spare bedroom. Love your basement. We just don’t have them very often in Tennessee. We do have barns. I do love the colored glass too. A few years ago I too vintage glassware and made jewelry stands. My sister was mad saying it ruins the vintage pieces. But I like the idea that if you had a cup or plate from a beloved relative instead of the idea being stuck in a cabinet you could have a gorgeous jewelry stand setting out where you can enjoy looking at it everyday. That’s the kind of thrift store I love. One that goes on forever. I like bells . When I was a child each one of the mothers in our neighborhood had a different bell. And when they wanted their child to go home they would ring their bell. We all knew from the sound of the bell who was being called home. I love jewelry I had jewelry selling jobs on the side on weekends. It was very different from my career. It is So much fun to sell jewelry . I sold premier design and I sold lia Sophia. Love both companies. Love selling jewelry! I still have many of my favorite pieces. I hope you make lots of profit. You found some great items. Leslye

Hi Karen, on the jewelry just go with what YOU like, don't worry about if its "valuable" or not. Chances are, if its all marked a $1 its not valuable LOL. So I would have just gone through it to see if there were any cutsie items that I liked...if none, shrug no buy. If so, I spend $1 or 2 and still no biggie at least that is how I was telling you how to approach it through the magic of telepathy LOL. I think you were kind of overwhelmed by how much there was. And in that case I usually pick out one thing - either bracelets or necklaces to look at. I ignore the rest, that helps to cut down on the overwhelm. And I buy with the idea someday I hope to make some of my own jewelry so if a piece has a certain bead or clasp or something like that I might pick it up too. I remember I went to a yard sale in a pretty fancy neighborhood and chose only two items, $1 each. It was late in the day too. They still had a lot of jewelry left. I was NOT a reseller at the time, but I just liked these. They turned out to be silver and done by a famous designer...sort of western native cowboy...hippie. Yes that's me 100% LOL. But I think I still have them. I HOPE I still have them...They are a bit heavy for my ears but I wore them a few times. I might try to google lens them if I find them just to see if I can get more info. I forget now...its been like 7 years ago.

Truthfully I don't know what I just said in the last sentence but what I meant was he would take a piece of an apple and stick it into the top of the wooden lid and that would keep the tobacco moist and able to be smoked and have a wonderful aroma. It was also in a green glass container that was fitted inside of a wooden surround where you could put your pipes on the outside. Actually quite beautiful and I wish I knew where it was
