Got a few rides on my alloy comp and freaking love it. First ebike and riding long technical trails and not being smoked is great. Still adjusting Mission Control settings.

Same bike here for 6 months and agree.....it's a good one other than the garbage brakes. Thanks for the feedback on the damper upgrade, it's been on my list.

I have the alloy too and would also choose it again. The carbon bike looks great but I couldn’t justify spending another 20% for the display and weight savings on an already heavy bike with a motor.

I was thinking about getting the carbon comp but then saw the carbon pro with the 38 grip2 and better brakes but now thinking about getting the alloy comp and throwing on the 38 grip2 and better brakes for much less. Great video and great bikes! I've always had alloy bikes so feels like the winning combo for me. Totally agree about the cushcore and I run that same light setup, its amazing!

It's definitely good to lay it all out in a spreadsheet and weigh up the costs of each model with the components you'll change 👌

@@LaveryMTB I've got two spreadsheets on the go and even a selection scoring system. This alloy version certainly allows me to add the exact parts I want and still be a bit cheaper than the Pro. However the 2023 Pro is near perfect for what I'd be wanting to build. I might just see what is in stock come 2 weeks when I'll be purchasing. Thanks!

So glad I found this video. I’ve been trying to decide between these 2 exact models. A shop in Melbourne was doing the comp alloy for 9400 and the carbon comp for 10900. Not sure if the extra 1500 is worth it for the mastermind?
@LaveryMTB
@LaveryMTB Жыл бұрын
For me, I wasn't too worried about Mastermind. It is a beautiful thing though and and gives you some quick on the trail adjustability to get more out of your battery using micro tune. Another thing to bear in mind is the carbon model has slightly better brakes I'm very pleased with the alloy model

The weight difference is actually under 600grams between alloy and carbon frame. I went with the alloy gen3 because it rides better in the gnarly stuff and weight wise you could say there was no difference… Had mine since December 21 and still love it every time I ride it.

I’ve got the same bike same color even the same rear fender lol. I have upgraded the front fork to Fox 38 grip2. I’m running the Eddie Current on the rear ( love that tire!) and DHF on front but plan on putting on the front tire version of the eddy current soon. At the bike shop before I even took possession, I had them put a clear bike wrap on the frame gloss version. It looks fantastic. Just as you, I would buy it again.

In the type of trails that you guys ride what runtime are you getting from the battery approximately? The sales guys are telling me about five hours does that ring true thanks.
@LaveryMTB
@LaveryMTB 2 жыл бұрын
Five hours of battery runtime is a VERY broad statement. For example, If i do a ride with over 1000 meters elevation, approximately 40kms, running trail and turbo mode, with close to 2.5 hours moving time, at a guess, I'd think i'd have about 20-30% battery left The battery run time, is very difficult to measure in hours as there is a lot of contributing factors, how much climbing (elevation gain), gear choice, mode choice, weight of the rider, the surface you are riding on. If you were to run the bike in eco mode the whole time, in my above scenario, you would probably get somewhere between 3 to 5 hours run time. In my opinion, the Gen 3 Levo's have incredible run time I hope this helps

By configuration, do you mean the geo settings? If so, I run the BB in the high position and the head tube in slack I haven't bothered with any additional frame protection and the paint is fine.
