I remember when this happened. The world was not happy that Russia didn't let anyone help. The entire world would have done what they could to save those men. This was supposed to be a revolutionary sub. The Russians didn't want other countries to see it and any tech on board.

Wow, so to protect and keep the secret of the sun and the tech on board they let all of these men die. Wow.

I was in the US Navy when this happened. As it was said we and several nations offered help. They said no! It is sad. Even if in a different Nave we are all bothers. Thurstan I hope you and all of your family really have a great Christmas. Get your shopping done,lol.

Also seen the idea that the first explosion may have been caused by faulty welding on the training torpedo allowing sea water to mix with the the torpedo’s fuel and cause a chemical reaction.

I remember this incident, but these details make it even worse 😭. Honestly, I would have preferred being killed outright because I couldn’t have tolerated the extended terror. God Bless them all.

I was a U.S. submariner, this is terrifying stuff. You should check out the submarine wet trainer video if you want to get an idea of what flooding would look like onboard a submarine. I remember hammering my buddy's hand while he held the plug in the hole. "Im hitting your hand I can't see anything " "Just keep going I can't feel my fingers anymore anyway" The water was so cold.

I remember watching this on the news, with my dad (US Navy). I remember him saying that they (russians) didn't want the US having a look at the russian hardware so probably won't let the US help.

Mentioned before but would be cool to see you react to Mr Ballen's "3 places you can't go and people who did anyways" stories, that's my favorite series. Also if you're going to do more of his "3 photos with disturbing backstories" the #1 story from part 6 is one of my favorite stories of all time

Claustrophobia inducing stories like that one mess with me more than just about any other type of story. Another story of that sort is David Shaw's death at Bushman's Hole. There's a good but obviously sad documentary about it called Dave Not Coming Back.

These days I dont respect Putin. But they really compensated those families. 10 years salary, housing and full college tuition. That's amazing. I'm glad they really cared about the families that were affected.

Just remember Lav, "Bezos Claus" is always happy to deliver the perfect gift at the cost of your soul. Also, you don't have to try to guess what your friends and family want from "Bezos Claus", Amazon Gift Cards are just "soul IOU"s to Bezos-bub.

not sure this is completely true regarding the letter… writing in pitch black…. water filled up the compartment but didn’t mess up the letter? waterproof paper?
@mikehunt3683 жыл бұрын
@Jeff Gordon he said that “he found the last open spot on the note and wrote ________” or something like that… if it’s pitch dark you aren’t going to find “the open spot” and then write something … sorry
@SqualingtonConstantine3 жыл бұрын
@@mikehunt368 It's not that he "found" a spot to write in pitch darkness, he just remembered where he previously wrote his possibly final words on a piece of paper.

Lol, I just find it difficult to sympathize with Russian military. If that never happened, that sub and those torpedoes would have America’s name all over them.
