The advantage of having a dog. Doesn't have to be big, just alert enough to sound the alarm. Doesn't hurt if they can tear an intruder's throat out, tho. Sidearm can come in handy too.

Idk I have three dogs and they all sleep downstairs next to the patio door. I woke up one morning and opened the blinds to the door to find all my patio furniture stolen. And it was heavy duty stuff, it takes more than one person to lift all that stuff one by one. My dogs failed to detect the noise and alert me. I thought dog were supposed to have excellent hearing. There's no way a team of guys walked in my backyard and coordinated lifting all the stuff without making noise. And they had balls too because there were 5 people in the house that night with five cars in the driveway. They knew people were home and they did it anyway while we were all alseep. Today I wish I could have woke up in time to catch them. You feel so violated when people take the stuff you worked hard for

Love his stories. Watch his channel all the time. His stories are real no made up BS Luke I'll tell one, when I was a kid, my sister and brother and cousin would often stay over at my grandparents home. It was a big 3 story farm house on a farm in So. Jersey. One time my grandfather was in the hospital and it was near Thanksgiving in November. So the older grandchildren were told we we're going to Grandmom's the first time weekend in November, schools were a break teachers had a convention and it was election week. Only 2 days of school. No problem we loved staying at the farm. The boys were always up stairs in the front of the house and the girls were always downstairs in the back. We could see outside the yard, 2 barns, and the fields. No we didn't have a set bed time at Grandma's. So on the second night there boys 3 of them up stairs, girls 4 of us up telling stories, talking about school my younger sister fell asleep. Around midnight, we noticed Randy our collie was still out side. So Kathy the oldest one decided to go to the back porch and let him in. She goes to the back door down the back porch finds Randy growling looking toward the fields. Kathy gets him in holding him she decided to go out on the steps Randy now ready to go after whatever is in the field. Kathy can't see anything pulls the dog into the porch turns to lock the door. She screams she sees something by the barn close to the house the shadow disappears into the side of the barn. Kathy runs into the kitchen with Randy locks the door pulls down the shade. Mean time all of girls are in the kitchen looking out the windows. Kathy says it's not a deer it's a person go get the boys so up to attic I go, my oldest cousin first one downstairs he was 17at the time. His dad had come in from driving a truck for the last two days we didn't know he was there and no it wasn't him outside. My cousin Mike, made enough noise to wake him up He and Mike show up in the kitchen both had rifles in hand. Did we call the police no we were out in farm country. Would take police at least 5 minutes or more to get there. Mike and his dad, my uncle handled this they both went outside with flashlights and loaded guns told us to stay inside turn out the lights indoors. They headed for the barn heard my uncle yell "show yourself, coward along with a few other things the both raised their rifles and fired, they fired 3 shots that night walking toward the barn. Said they heard running in field away from the house. Mike ran into the field fired another shot. They came back into the house. Checked the doors and windows all locked no one was ever found outside the house again. We never told Grandma but the oldest ones spent more weekends there. The collie sounded the alarm but the rifles finished the issue

Thank you Lav Luka for reacting to these stories. Sadly stalking is not taken seriously even though there is statutes for stalking in the many countries. More often ,by the time a victim knows they are being stalked or the stalker let's them know they are being stalked the stalker probably has been watching them for some time already. If anyone on here is being stalked please seek help from family and authorities. If you feel turned away please seek an advocate organization that helps stalking victims. You want a detective with threat assessment training or stalking cases can be considered a domestic violence case even if your stalker is a stranger. If anything staying quiet is the worst thing to do. I did that and it almost got me killed so please seek help. No ones asks to be stalked and you deserve to be helped. If you feel alone you are not alone! So please get help if you are being stalked.

These stories are similar to what happened to a friend. She and her dad lived in an apartment complex that had shared attic storage space. After both would come home at night - she from school and her dad from work - they began to notice missing items and food from the kitchen and frig. They blamed each other for the missing or misplaced items. This went on for weeks. One night as they were eating dinner, a man came crashing through their ceiling, landing right on the dining table in front of them. Turns out he'd accessed the storage area from another apartment after he'd been evicted. The owner thought he'd moved out, when he'd really just moved UP and was coming into the neighbor's apartment once they left for the day. Creepy.

I live alone with my family in a rural area in the lower peninsula of Michigan. I have a half mile long driveway that has three motion alarms placed along the driveway. One at the beginning of drive by the road, one half way up, and a third one just before you get to the house. Its terrifying when you hear the tone from the driveway alarm at 2 in the morning when the rest of the house is silent. Many times its an animal that's setting it off. My biggest fear is that ten or 15 seconds later hearing a second tone, meaning whatever its is, its coming up towards the house. This has happened a few times but its likely from a second animal or the same animal doubling back. But if the timing seems right and I hear the third alarm.... Lets just say im glad for my german Shepard and then U.S. gun laws.

Any rental area is supposed to have a deadbolt so the landlord or anyone else can't enter (even with a key) while you are home. That would have solved the problem of the very anxious lady. It's sad when such an easy fix doesn't come to mind. 😔

Even if my boyfriend gets home early and I'm downstairs or in bed they go running with such fierceness it I'm proud. But they know as soon as they see who it is and the smell tails just start wagging uncontrollably. They are also trained go come on command if anyone is concerned. I'm sure there are those out there that will have something to say.

If you can't bypass some dogs than what kind of stalker are you. If you are watching people with dogs pay attention to their routines. When they walk the dog, if they let him out by themselves. See what they like to eat, play with, like bones or branches. Invest in high pitch noise devices and test the dogs on a nightly basis so they alert the owners for weeks straight so they get used to the barking. Poison or sedatives followed by electricity. Lure, separate, engage then stalk.

I am dislexic and while it doesn't normally effect anything but occasionally ill see something or hear something that not there. Like a shadow or a beeping, I glance at the cat. He's not focusing on what I am. It's just my imagination. If someone was really there we would both be focusing in. Also I'll low key brag here. My cat love beating the crap out of people he doesn't like and he has a great judge of character. He even bit the head of a friends cheating boyfriend for no reason. I'd feel safer with a dog but he'll do.
