Alaska is so well defended because the military, unlike the maker of this video, understands that Russia is their next door neighbor.

Of course, similar to much of Alaska, the far eastern portion of Russia just doesn't have infrastructure. Hell, they're lucky if they have indoor plumbing.

I think Louisiana would be tough. It has vast swamps and marshes along the coast which would slow the enemy down. They would be forced to go up the Mississippi or one of a couple other choke points which would be easily defendable.

tbh, the biggest benefit of all the New England states is that they're small so it won't take that long for an air force or Virginia's naval bases to get there then again, they're also densely populated, so any would-be invaders could do a lot of damage in that time if that was their goal

I don't know why everyone keeps talking about population density like it's a bad thing. What I have learned through learning about wars are usually the mountainous area's or the dense urban sprawlsare the one's that last the longest and are defended the best. Look at Ukraine, Russia is held off at a decent sized town or city then after they finally capture it they just roam freely until the next big town or city.

New England States are gun owner states because of bears, elk, and deer. Most mountainous states have hunting and people will be armed. Each U.S. State has their own National Guard, they would immediately be deployed by the Governor of the State. Every State also has designated Munitions Depots guarded by the USMC and USN. It must be understood, a land invasion by any country would be a big mistake. We know the terrain, firearms and how to use them. We always appear divided to outside countries but my motto, and I witnessed it on 9/11 DON’T FIGHT US YOU WILL UNITE US! The motto on our money is E Pluribus Unum meaning Many are One.

Ok. Dude is a Texas fanboy apparently. "Texas Pride" as a defense listing is dumb. Texans' do have pride, and they'd definitely fight, but it's not like they exclusively have interest and means to defend their state. Should have had "x pride" for every state if he's gonna list that.

I called Rhode Island lol, but Rhode Islands greatest Defense is it's insignificance. Being unimportant to the big picture is a good way to defend yourself, they are the kid that sits in the back of the class room that doesn't get bullied or called to the front of the class, the kid that most people will forget about once they graduate.

Florida would be hard to invade. You got natural barriers like the St. John’s River, Lake Ocochobee, the Everglades and Okie Fanokee Swamp. Also, NAS Jax, Mayoort (which NAS Jax has a couple 5th gen fighter jets in F-35s, Mayport has ships of all types.

The Dakotas are a lot more defensible than you think. I grew up in South Dakota and hunting and gun culture are very strong there. Even the open prairie has its advantages, in part because there are miles of no cover that armies would have to traverse. Deer hunters there would turn it into a snipers paradise from the tall grass. Regardless, even the weakest states would be a serious folly to invade due to the massive armed populace and technologically superior military presence near by.

I’m gonna say this video completely forgot about inland states. Colorado or any of the Mountain states would be extremely difficult to invade due to mountainous terrain that would stretch supply lines as they’re thousands of miles from the nearest port that could supply them. This also applies to states like Kentucky and Tennessee. Additionally, Michigan can only be invaded by a narrow land corridor for either peninsula as warships cannot get on the Great Lakes. It’s also densely forested and has high gun ownership
@hackerx7329
@hackerx7329 7 күн бұрын
I was going to bring up Tennessee. The entire eastern third is mountains and hills including along the northern and southern borders, there are loads of forests, the western edge of the state has the border defined by the Mississippi river with on a few bridges to cross it which could be blown up in an emergency to deter an invasion. The state is a MAJOR transportation hub for trucks, trains, and air traffic (The main hub for the entire company of FedEX is in TN) but a lot of the roads go through mountain passes which are highly defensible. There is no navy or coast guard bases because there is no coast the state does have MANY other major river which again, would be choke points for invasion. There are however plenty of other facilities including air national guard. And that isn't touching on the fact that when the state did still require a permit to carry a firearm more than 1 out of every 8 people already had one. There are a massive number of hunters and recreational shooters and between them they easily have enough guns to instantly arm all the citizens that didn't have guns of their own. It is a state with multiple major firearms manufacturers including Barret aka the company famous for 50BMG rifles. It is also the state that builds ALL the nuclear warheads for the entire USA with INCREDIBLY secure facilities. As in you have to have the equivalent of top secret clearance to even get a job as a janitor. Yes, that whole town is surrounded by air defense systems, camouflaged gun emplacements, suspected missile silos, controlled access roads, checkpoints with machine gunners in armored buildings. TN is home to the fastest super computer in the world, a facility that 3D printed cars just to prove it could be done, and nobody knows how much classified new military tech.

It is so easy to hide in Vermont. Virginia is home to the Nations Largest Navy Base Norfolk. Hawaii has the 2nd Largest Navy Base, Alaska has the 3rd Largest Navy Base, - We have Army Bases, Air Force Bases and USMC Bases. NASA also has a Base on Wallops Island Virginia.
@BTinSF
@BTinSF 7 күн бұрын
To what naval base are you referring in Alaska? Perhaps you are referring to Kitsap in Washington State. Several bases like this enlarged their nominal size by combining bases such as Kitsap which was created by combining the populations of Naval Station Bremerton and Naval Submarine Base Bangor. Similarly, Pearl Harbor includes the population of Hickam Air Force Base with which is has been administratively combined.

The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels would cover Delaware in less than 5 seconds. The Navy Base in Texas is a Flight School you have to learn how to land those planes on aircraft carriers. The Blue Angels are an awesome sight the best part you watch them practice over water or the sea. Their moves are precision.

Three number Interstates are not real Interstates. They are auxilary Interstates, so Delaware really only has I-95. I-295 is the Philadelphia bypass which happens to rejoin I-95 in Wilmington and I-495 is the Wilmington bypass.

These figures concerning spending and troops numbers are NOT representative of the state defense effort. They all come from the national effort, the money being allocated from the national defense budget and the troops being allocated from the national military forces. Where the troops are is largely due to national defense priorities and geographical features. For example, both Norfolk in Virginia and San Diego in California (and Puget Sound in Washington State) are superb natural harbors adjacent to massive supportive resources for everything from troop housing to materiel for supply and maintenance of ships. The Army and Air Force have somewhat greater flexibility about where to allocate their strength and some of it is politics, but generally speaking they've scattered their forces fairly evenly around the country.

Here is my state Nevada: Nevada has a gun ownership rate of around 47.3%, which means that roughly 47.3% of Nevada adults own guns. This puts Nevada among 15 states with gun ownership rates between 30-40%.

Personally I'd give Texas the highest marks not just for it's military and terrain, but also for the Rangers, the huge numbers of police, and the millions of red necks with their own arsenals. You also have all of the people who are already doing the job of fighting an attempt to invade through the Mexican border, namely the Texas National Guard and the Border Patrol. Texas would be a very tough nut to crack.
@BTinSF
@BTinSF 7 күн бұрын
Texas gets no credit as a state (other than for the political clout of some of its best-known politicians like Lyndon Johnson and the Bushes) for the location of national military assets in the state. It's nationalist-leaning political leaders in recent times have, indeed, tended to be assertive in using law enforcement for non-traditional roles like border enforcement although what they can do in that regard remains limited by the Posse Commitatus Act. As for the citizens taking up arms, I suspect that's over-rated. Texas still has a hard core of rural farmers and ranchers and others used to owning and sometimes using guns regularly, but these days it also has a large number of recent migrants (from other states and from abroad) to its urban areas who have no more affiliation with guns than the rest of country. Let's not forget that the one school shooting that was conspicuous for law enforcement NOT acting aggressively to intervene was in Uvalde, Texas.
